Premium packages question on build

I was building a unit online tonight for an ORP and noticed you cannot getting a sliding cargo tray without getting a “package” that include other options.

Does anyone know what style of running boards come with the premium package? Do you get to choose trail vs predator vs chrome accent?

You should really built it on a PC gives pics.

But I don't think you get. You can add it as an accessory.

 

Yeah I did build it on my pc and took a snip of it and emailed to myself. I agree I would think the pic of the unit would update as you select options but it does not. The only thing I could get it to do was change the color.

Maybe the site was goofed up today

 

Not that you can order it, but choose the 4th package with just your cargo tray. Then on the next step for accessories you can choose which running boards you want.

 

Toyota’s allocation system is based on region. If you change your zip code to a different region, you may be able to get the cargo tray without the additional packages. If your region requires a specific package and/or accessories, then you will not be able to get it without those. This is critical when you are looking for a dealer to preference your order from.

 

Yeah, remember the old days when you had a checklist to build your dream. Now they give you what they want.

You have to buy a $2500 package to get one add on you might like.

This appears to be the issue. Thanks for the note. In my zip in SE Michigan can only get cargo tray if you add a package of other pricey items on a ORP. Oddly enough choose a off road or sr5 and adding the cargo tray itself for $350 is not an issue

 

Detroit was great for this in the 60s. I recently read about a guy who got Ford to build him a Country Squire wagon with a 428 Cobra Jet engine /4 speed manual combo. And at a museum once I saw a stripper Dodge Dart (steel wheels, bench seat, no radio) with a factory 4 speed and 426 Hemi.

 

I have an ORP coming April 7. The sliding cargo tray is on the vehicle already. There are no other required options for me. I did add the all weather cargo mat to go on it. My dealer actually deleted the Predator Steps which were on the original allocation. Must be dependent on dealer allocations from Port. It’s been my experience the willingness to change things around from original specified allocation is dependent on the demand. 2 months ago my dealer would NOT deviate from original allocation details with many Port installed options. Today he is deleting most anything I want. I think some softening is occurring but still paying MSRP. Just no add-ons.

 

That is pretty cool. In my area I cannot build an ORP with just the sliding cargo tray online. I have to get a package with a moonroof and or mtm cameras and or running boards. At a minimum required to spend $1,200 for a cargo tray plus one of the other items. Congratulations!

 

My ORP has 3 options: moonroof, sliding cargo tray, all weather cargo mat.

 

Build it in another area, call the dealership in said area, order it, fly to said area and drive it home!
It’s so easy!
