Ceramic tint (all glass), Toyo AT3s 285/70 C load, Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension, Ironman UCA, Cartrimhome TRD skid plate, RCI skids (rear diff, transmission, filler plate, catalytic anti theft), SwitchPro 9100 & MT Plate, Caliraised ditch lights & brackets, Caliraised molle panels, Sherpa roof rack, Westcott ladder, Weathertech window visors, Meso & LED interior bulbs, black badging, Weathertech mats, Husky cargo liner, Canvasback rear seat backing, Smittybilt 2781, Morrflate Quad, ARB Diff Breather, Ultimate9, TRD Pro rims, GTR Carbide headlights, DIY Knight Rider light strip.
These arrived today. I really wanted the RRW RR5-H wheels in 0 offset, matte black but just so pricey getting them shipped to Canada with exchange. Toyota had a sale on the TRD Pro rims, so these actually work out to $140 less a rim. I know 7” isn’t the the safest choice for 285s, but will be cautious on airing down.

Well with that puppy guarding them you don't have to worry about anyone stealing them.

Thanks, I love it. It has considerably more wind noise than my previous Victory racks (because the fairing on the Sherpa doesn't go all the way down to the roof), but overall the design is far superior.

I originally installed mine so the bottom of the fairing was flush with the bottom of the rails. This created unwanted wind noise. I then read Sherpa’s suggestion of an 1/8” gap to the roof. After doing that the wind noise is gone. You can definitely adjust the Sherpa to not have wind noise.

Thanks for the tip. Sherpa's own youtube video instructions are where they said to make it flush with the bottom of the rails. It would have been nice if they'd corrected that on their video.

Maxtrac leveling in the front and 1-1/2” spacers behind the wheels. Lubed drive shaft joints.

big difference on the appearance with spacers.

Well, in the combination of my excitement of getting the Kicker speakers installed and the frustration of reattaching some of the door panels, I didn’t take as many photos as I had hoped.

I finished the dash tweeters, the front doors and the second row doors. Only ones left are the 6.5” in the rear hatch.

They sound amazing! Bigger, fuller sound (especially paired with the Alpine ILX-507.) I am very pleased with the purchase.

    A few lessons learned…..

    1. The front tweeters in my 4Runner had two 10MM screws to mount the bracket and two 10mm bolts holding the speaker to the bracket. The speakers in the video on the Trail Grid Pro site looked different. I believe they were JBL speakers and mine were not.

    2. Take a photo of the green and white wires that control the lock and door handles. If you get those reversed, you’ll have to pull the panel off and swap them. I didn’t do it on this install but I have in the past!

    3. The Trail Grid Pro video instructs you to drill two holes in your second row door frames to accommodate for the length of the speaker mount screws. I just found 4 shorter screws from my collection of unused hardware at the house. Much easier solution.

    4. Attaching the rear door panels was a bear. It is definitely not intuitive, however I found this thread on the other 4Runner forum that saved the day for me. Whew. I’m tired now, LOL. Peace out!

I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I picked up a pair of Bridgestone Duelers to replace my worn out Cooper Adventurer AT that I had when I bought my 4unner.

It seems like Bridgestone Duelers were typically the OEM stock tires for 5th gens.

I got them used at 95% tread and just needed them for some heavy highway driving for the next couple of months as I will be in the process of re-locating.

edit: Any feedback on these tires?

I ran my OEM Duellers on my new 4R for 20,000 miles. They balanced very well, very smooth to 80+ mph. They’re OK on dry pavement but I found them to not perform so well in the rain. They slipped under slightly heavy cornering. If you take it easy on them you will be fine.
They are not very good for any off-road use except for easy hard packed dirt.

Installed the Cali Raised R/P Molle panels along with their upper shelf. Was a fun little install for a novice like myself.

Passing over 53k miles I changed plugs, engine and cabin filters, changed coolant fluids.
Front diff, transmission, transfer case, rear diff fluids were changed couple of weeks ago.

    Plugs look ok.

I got Load Range E Falken WildPeaks. Said to be a 10ply side wall. Definitely a stiffer ride than the Nitto Terra Grapplers, factory tire.

Load E means its 10ply "rated" main tread surface. Really it would have 5ply if I can remember correctly.
Sidewall is a different story. Some stronger A/Ts have real 3ply side wall and some tires have 2ply. Most M/Ts have 3ply sidewall.
You would have to take closer look at the tire side wall where this information is shown.

The LT load range C tires, such as come stock on a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, are 5 ply in the tread. The LT-E tires on my van and Jeep have 7 plies in the tread - 2 steel, 3 polyester, 2 nylon. And yes, a 3 ply sidewall. Those 7 plies hold up much better to the rocky roads I travel than tires with a "C", or the "P" designation that is on the tires of a stock 4Runner. No such thing as a 10 ply sidewall - they are all either 2 ply or 3 ply.

The tires on my van and Jeep are Toyo Open Country M/T in LT285/75R17E size. I started using them when I noticed that all the mines were putting them on their mine pickups.
    https://www.toyotires.com/product/open-country-mt/

Some of the guys around here are using the Maxxis RAZR Mt tires which have the same 7 ply tread/3ply sidewall construction. There may be others, I don't know.
