5th gen 4Runners in scenic locations

Where is this? Were you by chance driving southbound on I-270 just south of Frederick, MD on Sunday around 11:30 am. I saw a rig just like this heading south as I was heading north. If you are from Central PA, good chance you would come down Rt 15 to I-270.

 

I am guessing Outer Banks, NC!

HA! No celebrity here. Just a broke wanderer. Livin' tank top off to tank top off...

 

I did a 20 day mountain bike trip in the 4R this Fall to CO & UT from MD and absolutely loved it! My work has been so slow I should just head to AZ to mtn bike for a few weeks! Definitely doing a WY, MT, ID, OR trip this Fall. Best way to see and experience this country is to put rubber and boots on the ground!

September '22, similar trip 7,735 miles. Several States and National Parks. Gonna do, UT, CA, AZ, NM, CO, heading back East. Kind of a loop. Finishing last year's trip. Nova Scotia on the short list too.

 

Darby, MT. Chief Joseph Ranch. Where Yellowstone TV Show is filmed. They were locked down. Filming the day I visited.

 

My trip was 5,400 miles. Final western destination was Moab. Northern New Mexico was stunning! Million Dollar Highway in CO - Silverton, Ouray, Telluride - incredible. The West is magnificent - but always good to come home to the rolling hills and greenery of the East.

I don't want to speak for the OP, but those are sunsets - probably over the sound in the Outer Banks of NC. My mom's beach house on the sound in Kitty Hawk, NC has beautiful western sunsets toward the mainland. I had to do a double take of the photo with the dock / gazebo - looks just like my parent's next door neighbors dock overlooking Kitty Hawk Bay!

 

Ah, I see the strip of land now that I have my reading glasses. That makes far more sense now.

good to know in terms of message board "etiquette" of limiting each post to a few pics; the browser page speed makes sense given this is a free site. I am here for all of your pics so keep em coming. Love seeing people's 4Runners in cool spots while I am here in the burbs on zoom calls and sales calls slowly dying each day staring at forecasts and spreadsheets. Someday I'll get around to posting my own limited adventures. Hopefully everyone feels empowered to keep the good stuff coming!

 

Hey, why you gotta knock spreadsheets? I loves me a good spreadsheet! I used Excel to create a RV park reservation system as my senior project. Post up your pics; just like truck mods, they're mostly all good!
