I am fast appoaching 60k miles (yikes)!! While installing some sweet new Wild Peaks a few weeks back and looking at my break pads I think the time will soon come to replace them and possibly the rotors. Any suggestions on upgrades ? Aftermarket vs oem

3" lift but mostly all stock not a scratch on it it is pristine condition amazing for being 19 years old.
well if you have the money i would go with drilled and slotted rotors 4runner brakes tend to overheat and get spongy when they get hot. drilled and slotted rotors don't allow the gasses to build up between the rotors and the pads not to mention reduced stopping distance. it's the best way to go. no real need for drilled/slotted brakes on an SUV. those are for high performance vehicles that brake a lot and build up friction/heat. do you do a lot of wheeling? like getting muddy, wet, dirty, etc? dust and dirt and shit can get caught up in the holes and slots and wear your pads out faster over time. stick with OEM grade and you'll be good to go. i went with hawk HPS pads for the less brake dust factor, paired with centric premium rotors. love the combo.
