Including Icon with the other brands that have the solid heim lower strut bushing, has anyone experienced that joint wearing out? I have 60k miles on my remote Icon 2.0s and the lower bushing siezed onto the bolt and spacer - has become oblong and clunks around as if it's a cammed...uneven rotation and noise...what's the protocol on repairing said bushing? I'm in the extreme cold temps and had good luck with no leaking and one rebuild. I just bought some 2.5s with 700lb springs for my bumper and winch... can I rebuild/revamp my old 2.0s lowers?

I found a local shop to do it, shipping them to icon was kind of cost prohibitive for me. The local guys did mention a different brand of seals that were supposed to be better, though I'm not sure if that was a load of crap or not. But was willing to try it on the second rebuild.

I'd find whoever in your area can do it, I believe those lower bushings are rebuildable, unless the actual eyelets are broken.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. I have a local shop and the eyelets are not broken, tho they are not circular but oval...the bushings ate rattling around but I'll see if I can just swap out the lower billet coil perch, worse case...thanks!

Icon sells the bushings, heim bearing, and spirolox snap rings as a kit: https://www.amazon.com/ICON-Coilover-Bearing-Compatible-611067/dp/B08YPB7VQC

Install with new bolt coated in anti-seize or cosmoline. Use a nylok nut to prevent loosening.

In my Tacoma's case, the bushing's small-diameter shank portion sheared off inside the heim bearing, causing the bolt to be jammed up in it. This was after two years of use, so it wasn't rust-seized. I was eventually able to spin the bolt out with an impact. I replaced the bushings and bearing with the Icon kit. C-clamp style ball joint press came in handy with pushing the bearing out.

It's a systemic problem with any coilover that uses heim lower bearings, because they come in a standard COM-10 size with 5/8" bore, which is about 15.8mm. The bolt is 14mm. That leaves a reducer bushing with less than a millimeter wall thickness.
