I’m interested in seeing what kind of badging or vinyl logos some of you have put on your rigs. Particularly nautical blue owners (but photos from any color rig will be helpful). I would like to add some traditional red, white and blue badging instead of the black and grey American flag. Whatcha got?

I may be in the minority on this but I think it’s odd to put patriotic stickers on my 4Runner. I served in the military for 22 years and some might say I deserve to put the American flag on anything I want but I just can’t bring myself to put it on a foreign truck.

Thank you for your service. Because of you I can put it on whatever I want. Also, thanks to you I can disagree with you in public (big fan of the freedom of speech that is worth defending). :). IMHO they're all foreign trucks these days.

I, too, thank you for your service.

I see your viewpoint. I also understand that there are millions of patriotic Toyota (or what have you) owners. You don't give up your patriotism just because you buy a Toyota. Sadly, we can't get through life these days by buying only made-in-USA stuff, though it would be nice if that weren't true. I do try to buy domestic as much as I can.

For whatever reasons, you bought a 4Runner. That doesn't make you a non-patriot; there are lots of good reasons for making such a purchase. A display of patriotism reflects what's in the heart, it doesn't reflect what you spend your money on. You are a guy who drives a 4Runner and is a true patriot. I say display your patriotism anywhere you see fit.

    Thank you for your service!

I totally respect what you're saying. My dad was a WWII vet and buying a Toyota was out of the question when I was growing up. Later in life, dad softened to the idea and was actually shopping for a Camry before he passed. I couldn't believe it!

    God bless ya brother.

Agreed. Also, I kind of find the obsession with slapping flags all over everything a little odd, since you know anybody that sees it lives in the same country as well. I almost think putting the flag of the origin country of the vehicle is kind of cool. Like I would put a swedish flag sticker on my Volvo, or Dirt Lifestyle Nate did the Japanese rising sun on the hood of his Tacoma.

When I was a kid in the mid-90s, there was a Pearl Harbor survivor that would come in for gas at the station that I worked at. Blew my mind that he drove a Toyota. I really wanted to ask him about his experience there, but even as a kid I knew that was something that they didn't like to talk about.

There was another guy that came in that was also a WWII navy vet, he never told me any stories either, other than that his original enlistment was supposed to be up on December 8th, 1941.

LMAO......what's a foreign truck??? What's an American truck??????

Since NAFTA there is no "American" truck. Tundra made in USA, Ford made with foreign materials all over the world assembled in a few plants here it's all a blur.
And yes I served, 14 active 3 reserve to deploy unit to DS-I.......but have been a student of GHWB 1,000 points of light and his NWO that we currently are being herded into. Buy American is also part of a Tavistock Psy-Ops of mass psychosis as the covidiot faux-demic we are currently engaged in.

having said all that, why put bubba stickers all over a nice rig??? but really, I am an old fart and never did care for the 'look at me' stuff.
Well uh ok...guess ah ....as you were.......heh...

When we still lived in the SoCal Mtns, there was a USMC Veteran that survived the landing on Iwo Jima, living in our neighborhood. He drove a '68 FJ-40 and his Wife drove a '62 VW Beatle. They were the nicest folks to have as neighbors. Our common interests were that I had a '73 FJ-40 and my Wife had a '70 Beatle.
When the neighborhood had our annual block party, we would inevitably talk about Cruisers and Bugs.
I'm a Japanese-American, born on the Marine Corp Base in 29 Palms, CA. Every once in a while, he would let slip "Jap" while we were talking.
And I could see his Wife kinda kick him under the picnic table or just punch him in the arm. I would try and calm her by saying, you grew up in a different time and I take no offense. It was a very sad when he passed and I think the whole neighborhood went to his service at Riverside National Cemetery.
That was a sad day for me as I also visited my Parents grave too.

Sounds like a good guy. He survived Iwo, damn. I've seen footage and read enough about the Pacific theater to be very grateful that I wasn't born in a time that I would have had to go through that.

In the years since I was a kid, I've read enough accounts by WW2 veterans to know that a lot of them basically said it took them a while, but they learned to get over it and just let the hate go. That in most cases the guy they were fighting didn't want to be there anymore than they did, and they all just wanted to get home.

My grandfather was young enough to just miss going to Korea, he served in the army a few years later. He would say things like that too, never with malice or in a derogatory way, it was just though how those guys talked back then. But that's just the way it goes, right? I was in elementary school in the 1980s, and we used to throw around the word "retard" like it was going out of style. I still catch myself saying it with people of a certain age, but definitely not socially acceptable anymore.

The money all ends up with Toyota, ford etc though. So it matters some. And 4Runners are all pure Japanese built.

Then you're not informed of global economics if you still think ford money stays in their coffee can.
That is a deeper rabbit hole.
I get ya. Just informing that the way we grew thinking the world ran no longer exists. (1990 era of nafta and corporate poison pills was just the start. The average person cannot follow the hidden monies. Just look at FTX laundry mat...heh)
We no longer in Kansas lol....it left us......

Do the veterans who sacrificed for this country a favor.

Learn and obey the Flag Code.

I see so many "patriots" desecrating Old Glory by wearing it as apparel, using it for decoration or flying torn or faded flags.

Those kinds of "patriots" give aid and comfort to our enemies and slap veterans in the face when they desecrate the American Flag.

I used to believe that putting an American flag on a foreign vehicle was dumb, but when you buy UAW these days you are really just making a de facto contribution to the DNC so I'm not sure buying an American car is something to be patriotic about anyway.

Being a military brat, i cannot thank you guys enough. Your volunteering allow me the live my true lifestyle without persecution.

As far as the decals, I see it as support and pride. Just like when others visit American monuments. It's too learn from the past for a better future.

Food for thought, is the Tundra considered American cuz it's made down the road in SA by a Japanese company?

I dont have a pic but black and dark gray decals disappear on the blue so I get why you want color. I like the less standout look though.
Light gray stands out ok on blue without popping boldly like red or white does.

We, as a free people, as a free Nation, should not disrespect our own flag.
Changing a Countries colors (ours or others) is disrespectful.

With respect, I too am a stickler for the flag code. But I don’t hold the ignorant up to my standard. With the waning level of patriotism in the U.S. right now, I’ll take sloppy, poorly executed patriotism over no patriotism.
