Hey guys. I'm new here. Enjoyed perusing through various forums a couple of hours yesterday.

Just started looking for 5th generation 4Runner. I actually owned a 1st generation that I purchased new than later sold - hence, my username.

I was considering a new Subaru Outback but I think I a used 4Runner would be a great fit for me as well. However, I'm finding that's quite a challenge as used prices for good trucks here in the Phoenix area are quite high. I'm a soccer dad and looking to haul son/teammates and gear to out-of-state matches, etc. Maybe pull a small boat or carry a kayak when I retire in a few years.

Anyway, I'm strongly considering a 2011 SR5, 4x4, with 76K miles. The truck appears to be in excellent condition and well maintained. What do you think is a fair price and what things should I look for?

Well, I guess I'm more impulsive than I thought. The truck was in immaculate condition. Made the commitment to purchase and we will take care of paperwork and funds transfer at his bank tomorrow. I'm so happy.

Welcome aboard, and it's good to hear that you found a good SR5 in top condition. Our rig is a Canadian Trail, basically an SR5 fancied up a bit. And we love it! - Cheers, Ted

Sad to say that deal fell through. Now I'm back to looking. But thank you for the welcome message.
