After putting over 40K on my Yokohama MT's, they started getting unsettling in the rain and louder, so I did research and took a chance on the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT in size LT265 70 17 (stock size). The shimmy that is so prevalent with these vehicles at about 60 mph is no longer there. The tires are much quieter even for an aggressive all terrain, are very good in the rain and I seem to be getting at least 1 mpg more.
The wife loves the ride, the look and the more pleasant ride. Time will tell with these tires but overall we are very happy with them so far. The Porter Tire near us actually beat the Discount Tire price also.
And now for the requisite pic:

Those look great! Keep us updated as you use them in different situations. Are you in an area where you'll use them in snow?

    Thank you.
East TN here so not really. We do get an occasional small amount. The big test in snow will be going up my driveway but I will update as I go. We travel a lot and like to hit trails.

Excellent! Looking forward to seeing more updates as you get some miles on these. I think they look fantastic, I would strongly consider them for my next set of tires.

I think those are one of the best looking all terrain tires I want to get 285 but they are heavy about 62 pounds

you ain't kiddin. i'm looking hard at the 116T XL rated versions in stock size that are only about 45lbs but still 3 ply (albeit obviously not super heavy plies). i think they'd work out pretty awesome for general offroad work in the SE. they're also near-as-makes-no-difference a true 32" size.

It's too bad they don't offer that size in load range C. If you're not doing any serious off-roading, the SL version is only 48#. That might be my next set of "winter" tires.
