Finally got wireless android going. What a pain in the ass. I can't even remember what I did to make it work but the final thing was rebooting my phone for the 20th time. Hopefully it keeps the connection going forward.

Installed the max11 and it’s working nicely. Takes a few seconds to load android on startup but everything works fine so far. I think the only difference between max and vivid is the user interface…
After some time with it it mostly works fine, but at times CarPlay will randomly stop and then reconnect. It’s not often but it’s annoying when it happens. Also the phone doesn’t recognize the head unit mic for phone calls. I’ll have to look into that.

Has anyone experienced black screen? The side buttons light up but the main screen is black... if direct sunlight is hitting I barley make out whats on the screen. Installed this one in my 2014 Limited 4Runner, worked fine yesterday but today black screen of death. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088ZT88TS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

There seems to be a lot of issues with these Chinese radios everywhere, other forums and Facebook groups. I’m debating getting one, I’m after the oem look but do t know if I want the headache of troubleshooting so often.

The screen looks great, when it works. Which FB group did you look at? It's been a pain in the ass troubleshooting so far. No luck w the black screen yet either...

Hey all, and thanks for the many great write ups on this head unit. I apologize if I missed it, but I didn’t see any mention of using this H/U with the OEM Audio Plus systems. I have read that the CarTrimHome CTH versions are a direct plug and play with the OEM Audio kit, but what about this one? I’m wanting to upgrade my 2017 to one of these but still torn between the two. Thanks

I am lazy to read thru 11 pages. Does this work on 2021+ models?

False, it does. Some slight sanding around the hazard switch is required. At least for ‘21MY.

Okay. I was going off the manufacture description, which only goes to 2019

I can only speak intelligently about the unit I purchased which is the Android 10 max unit. I installed it in my MY ‘21 with only modifying the hazard switch opening, yes.

I'm hoping someone trolling this post with VERY GOOD Android skills can help me with mine. It's not yet installed but I've been told by my technical-challenged neighbor that she couldn't get the CarPlay functionality to work in hers without updating the firmware which she had no idea how to do.

If you're adept at these units and Android programming, I'm going to need some help! Shoot me a DM please.

Lots of little stuff, no off-road mods (it’s a pavement pounder)
How did you map the mic? I can’t figure that one out and I’m pretty savvy but apparently not as much as I thought.

King performance OEM 2.5" adjustable coil-overs with remote reservoirs all around. Icon UCAs with Delta joint. 265x75x18 BFG KO2s. Prinsu full roof rack with a Tepui RTT. And a good amount of recovery gear to go with it.
There are good options that have cd/dvd still on the market if you are interested. Check out Pioneer. The AVH-W4500nex is a beast. Closer to the Alpine Halo 9 in cost. But it has a lot of features, wireless Apple play and Android Auto, screen mirroring, dvd/cd, hdmi out, maestro i-data compatible (which means you can see engine readouts on the screen that don’t have a factory gauge). People seem to like it. In fact I’m getting one installed this weekend. I’ll do a review on it in a few days once I get to know it better.

Edit update: whoops, looks like someone else already did a write up on the pioneer Headunit with dvd but suffice to say it works well and I’m diggin it. Happy to share more if someone is thinking of getting one.

I think this is the best route. These chinese tablets built to be a head unit are problematic and there is no support when they die.

    HELP!!!!

Oh my. Read every post on this thread (thank you all). ordered for our '18 limited, car for our son, stupid I know, but wanted wireless carplay for "safety" sake as he is a new driver and though this better than having him look down at his phone all the time. Received, installed, fired up and worked perfectly (rear camera, carplay, everything). (This forum is amazing, so much knowledge, thank you.). Shut it off for a couple hours, kid comes home, take him out to surprise him. Turn on car and f'ing unit doesn't even turn on!!!! What the hell!!! Predictable for me trying for dad of the year award, but seriously what is going on? Anyone have this issue? Fuse? That seems too simple.

    PLEASE HELP.

You got the black screen of death. These units have a tendency to do that. Your only remedy is to get in touch with the seller and ask him to send you a new unit.

But in actuality, you 'll be better off getting a branded unit from Pioneer/Kenwood/ Sony etc.

Hey guys, I finally installed the Dasaita 12 today and I love it. I installed mine with an active sim so not using my phone for anything. Has anyone figured out how to get downloaded music to play? For some reason the download folder sits on the sim and even when I try to move it, I have no option but the sim through the file explorer
