I was only going to keep them aside as back up, in case the new ones don’t last or breaks on the trail. By retrofitting, do you mean using these in your existing housing or you’re going to get new mirror housings. Just curious as these are mounted in with clips, and 2 screws are for the housing on the back, and that housing helps secure the bottom half of mirror together.

i want to remove the black plastic piece that is bolted into my mirrors and see if yours will bolt in place. I cannot imagine Toyota would have completely different housings, but I have been wrong before…

Bought some vinyl decals from @MyWyfsRnnr. Gave him a bit of challenge, but he got it done. Installing was a bit of a challenge (lining up everything correctly). Taking them off was just as challenging (got love it when decals are wet and trying to keep them in place). Anywho, here are the installation pics and results.

Also got OEM roof rack cross bars installed. Easy peasy.

Made some changes to my 23 Pro. Installed Morimoto headlights and some Diode Dynamics amber fogs. Also installed taillights, all this was on my 22 SR5 that I traded for this last Friday. Also got windows tinted on Tuesday. Lift wheels and tires on the way.

Yes. I’ve done it. Not cheap though. You have to buy the housings from Toyota. Then the retrofit harness from @Oldred. My MY21 Trail also needed coding, I did through Carly. But now I have folding, puddle light mirrors with sequential turns. The housings are the expensive part.

Installed a MillerCat shield today. First major mod after 2 weeks of ownership. Also got a coat of Surface Shield on/in the cross members and front half of frame while I was under there.

Stainless. The thickness between the two isn’t much different (16gauge vs 12gauge) and MillerCat actually recommends stainless for maximum theft prevention.

I’m holding onto anything I swap out in case in end up selling. I pulled all this off my 22 before selling and was glad I held onto the stock stuff. You never know when that amazing deal or vehicle might pop up.

Had to get new tires, so found some Trail Edition wheels (2nd pic) in good shape. So much better than the SR5 wheels (1st pic)

Doesn’t hurt to ask, I did that for a while before just buying new. You gotta catch them quick when they go up for sale anywhere.

The last time I checked a while back was $1400+ for a set of new OEM full LEDs. How much did you paid?

$1,307 + $75 for shipping from Boch Toyota South. They’re typically the cheapest vendor from my experience. All the local dealers quoted me over $2000.

If by full LED you mean LED hi and low beams, it would be a bit more. I went with the LED low and halogen high. You can modify a 9011 bulb to fit in the 9005 spot and the 9011 bulb is significantly brighter/better.

For that price you might as well go aftermarket, I paid about $1100 for my Morimoto’s. Alpha Rex makes some nice units as well. Unless your stuck on wanting Oem, you can get a nice set for less than new Oem. Or just keep searching, Oem lights pop up all the time. Also check your local fb marketplace or Craigslist.

I wanted OEM. The Morimotos have good output and look great, but I wanted better reliability. They have a great warranty, but too many people are having to replace them often. The Alpharex light also look great, but don’t perform as well as the OEM LEDs. They have some pretty bad QC as well.

OEM has the best quality and output. The Morimotos are the only aftermarket headlamps I'd go with, until Diode Dynamics releases something.

Totally understand. If it wasn’t for all the chrome I would’ve probably kept my stock ones. I wish they made something like they do for the Tacoma Pro’s for the 4Runner Pro’s. The Tacoma Pro headlights are nice, my buddy just bought a 23 Tacoma Pro and his lights look awesome.

Oh I thought they did? So the 4R is the only one in the Pro line that doesn’t have the black accents in the lights? That’s dirty. Tundras have the Pro version too. I don’t blame you for wanting to get rid of that. Those Tacoma LEDs perform better too. Toyota didn’t show the 4R much love on the LEDs in comparison to the rest of Toyotas.
