Kelly Blue book is 9 on the low and 12 grand on the high end and that is taking into account the 11,000 miles. That dealer is nucking futs.

Dealers don't use the Kelly Blue Book they use NADA which will give a higher value. This is worth maybe $15k to the right person. It has the glorious 2UZ-FE motor and probably hasn't had a timing belt change and will need one. They can ask what they want but this is a bit extreme. They're looking for a big fish.

Well, they did say the oil change was changed in preparation for the sale. And they said it all fancy-like just like at those sophisticated hoity toity auction houses.

I’m sure they’ve verified the x-reas is still in perfect running order.

Insane is an understatement. The problem is someone will probably buy it for that or close to, and the dealer will continue with the dipshitery of absurd pricing.

For that you could probably just pick your generation and buy one and LS swap it.

In LS swapped first, second, or third gen would be epic.

For most people this is pretty instance and doesn’t make sense unless you’re a true diehard Toyota collector.

I'd say it's a bit high...BUT it is a V8, 4WD, Limited, VERY VERY low mileage, this in itself is for a 4Th Gen is a Holy Grail of 4Th Gens, VERY VERY desirable for 4TH Gen fans, and not to mention it being a Florida vehicle and seeing the photos of the frame no rust, looks brand new!
My 4TH Gen is from Florida and has no rust, as long as it's never driven into the salt water on a beach Florida vehicles tend to have very little to no rust.

I would not be surprised if it sells for at least $25,000!

Kelly Blue Book, NADA never takes into account how the V8+4WD options increase the value to potential 4TH Gen buyers, throw in very low mileage and people will buy it!

Not that easy to ls swap, it's not exactly a bolt on. Heavy fabrication which involves a lot of cutting up the frame, welding not to mention a huge electrical undertaking. After it's all said and done if you have a reputable shop do the work you're spending probably more than 35k if you do it yourself the resell value tanks not to mention the registration smog headaches in some states. The 4.7 is a proven motor and it's extremely smooth. (Owned an ls1 and 4.7)

Fair Points. The nice thing about the LS is that it makes as much power as you want. With a project like this, resale shouldn't be a concern. Though, if you're swapping out a 3.0, 3.4, or 4.0, I could only see this increasing value.

I'm definitely not advocating paying 35k for this one and then yanking the motor, yeah that makes zero sense.

I belong to 80 group, and lot of those guys are putting LS based engines in them. I don't recall ever seeing anyone swap a Toyota V8 into one in that group.

I currently own an LS1 car too, btw. Would LOOOOVE to put that motor in my 4Runner.

If I could build my ideal 4Runner, it would be a second gen with an SAS and LS.

Wow! Yeah, those were rare birds indeed!. That's like the holy grail of 4th gen Birds, haha. My first LS1 car was a 6-speed Formula, a 98 non WS6 hardtop. I enjoy the blue '00 t-top automatic car more.
