So got my roof rack from Sherpa yesterday and installed. I was wondering on the middle and rear legs. They utilize their rubber blocks don't 100% fill up the gaps left by the original roof rack design. Do you guys just leave them open or did you fill in those gaps with silicon sealant?
Was just worried about water pooling in those gaps.

If you're talking about the gaps between the rubber pads/brackets and the rubber channel on the roof... that rubber channel can be easily removed and is just a cover for the actual water channel. Having a gap there is a non-issue.

use as is, no need for sealant. I'm about 2.5 years in with no issues

Mine is about 2 months old and the blocks also do not meet the existing strips. I’m not worried about that as along as the blocks are installed and tightened properly. Have had many rainy days, no leaks that I could see - even checked with IR gun after heavy rain. Love the rack!

I’ve had mine for about 8 months. I was a little hesitant to go through a touch less car wash, but had to get the mag chloride off my track after a recent snowfall. No issues with any leaks, and I didn’t use any silicone. The rack is holding up great!
