Just figured it would be wicked cool to see some Picts, but yes, I could just search the net.

I was disappointed to learn the DD 6” stage series light bar kit doesn’t fit 2019 and up. Maybe your set up is better?

I had a 30" DD Stage (all driving pattern) LED bar in the lower grill on my Tacoma before trading it in on the 4Runner. I believe the SS5's are actually better.

If you want use on road, I like OEM LED fog lights. Best cutoff for street use and really wide spread.
I have some BD Squadron Sport amber as forward facing aux offroad lights.

Have DD SS3 Pro fogs on my other truck and they are kinda too bright for street use even when properly aimed. I mostly treat them same as high beams.

I'm normally a huge fan of OEM parts. (Working in a Toyota Parts department will do that to you.) That said, there are a number of much better performing aftermarket fogs out there. In fact, Diode Dynamics latest Elite series LED fogs put a pretty good hurting on the OEM LEDs as do their Sport model.

The LED SAE J583 Fog Pod & Fog Light Review | Tacoma World

As for the Pro model being "too bright" for the street, having run a set in my T4R, I would propose that it's more of a beam pattern problem than a power problem. The Sport has a nice, tight horizontal pattern. (The Elite has an even tighter pattern.) The Pro uses a more powerful diodes that causes the beam patten to have much more "bleed" above and below the center of the pattern. Even when properly aimed, that bleed bothers oncoming drivers.

The Max has even higher-powered diodes, but better beam discipline. Properly aimed, these actually work better than the pros. In fact, I would only recommend the Pros for off-road use. Truth be told, I swapped clear driving beam lenses into my Pros and run them on one of my other vehicles now. Set up this way, they make a great auxiliary high beam.

Low beam not super bright. Very sharp cutoff. Cant see far.
End up driving with auto high beam most times.
Don't understand the rationale behind bi low/high beam.

    Cheers

Nice. I'm planning on ordering the DD SS3 Max Fogs if they have a black friday sale. Want to get them before winter comes through.

I'll second the recommendation for Hotshot Off-road. Maybe @memario1214 can give us a hint of what they're going to do for Black Friday. :notsure:

That's the point. They are intended to increase visibility at ground level to better see the lines and debris in low light situations. They are not intended to throw light a long way out, hence the cut off.
    Not sure what you mean...?

How did you end up mounting the SS5s? Did you build a bracket, or do the DD brackets for their light bars happen to work?

Does having the lights behind the grille result in any weird beam pattern blemishes?

I’d look at the Max too. It has a defined cutoff and has better output than the Pros. I have the Pros and have never had an issue when passing oncoming drivers in the situations I’ve had them on.

Haha, yea it’s insane. In that fog light thread that was linked for Tacoma World, it’s explained in there as completely normal and that the heat won’t damage anything on your vehicle. At least, I’m pretty positive that’s what I remember reading.

I thought I had a decent output shot of the Pros at night, but I guess I don’t. This is the only one I could find for reference.

Heat is not a bad problem in cold/snow weather climates. Lots of LED's suffer from lack of heat and lack of melting ice and snow on contact.
