Satellite phone advised for remote overlanding?

As seen in other threads, I'm going on a 10 day remote overlanding trip to Baja over Thanksgiving. I'm learning that medical care there is extremely remote (5 hour drive) and am getting concerned my InReach Explorer won't be enough to try to get medical care over the phone. Anyone have experience with a satellite phone? Is it needed? Think there's an insurance plan I can get for a medevac if needed? Anyone have any good satphone recommendations? I just got one of these. Have it hooked up and tested the messaging capability, but granted I was in town. I like what these guys have done. As for a sat mobile? Its so cheap now its excellent insurance. Month to month plans makes it even easier. Having a Sat Hot Spot is the uber fancy way of insuring connectivity:

It’s a very personal choice based on self-assessing the risk/reward but in our case, while my wife and I don’t need it as much as years past, we still maintain membership in Global Rescue. https://www.globalrescue.com/

However, you will need to check w them on coverage in remote Baja Peninsula and, if you decide to use it, you would need to be able to reach them from remote area.

Always, always leave a travel itinerary with someone not with you on the adventure. If nothing more, let them know departure date, general travel locations/routes and return date. That way someone knows when you’re expected back. Heck we make it a practice to do this when we go off-roading in the boonies here at home.

Edit: Moon Landings suggestion of a rental Sat phone might be cheap insurance.
