I am considering a set of aftermarket floor liners, my goal is to contain winter slush/salt/slop. Do weathertech or husky liners provide any benefit over the oem molded rubber? I can't tell from the photos online if the sides are any higher. Looks like Husky provide the highest sides and most protection but this is just from photos. Has anyone tried either brand?

Wife has OEM. I have Husky. Her carpet needs to be vacuumed weekly (she doesn’t and I gave up). I can pull the mats out and dump them and the carpet under is clean except around the pedals. If she didn’t already have the OEM, would have done husky

OEM does not offer enough protection.

Huskey's good for maximum protection but is made of a harder plastic material.

Weathertech offers a softer rubber-like feel (more like OEM), more protection than OEM, but not as much as Huskey. If you ever drive barefoot, Weathertech is a good compromise.

I tried both. OEM kinda sucks. Weathertech has much better water/slush containment. Haven't tried Husky

    EDIT
Mine are the All-Wewther Floor MATS

I replaced my OEM carpets with the WeatherTech All-Weather FloorLiners F/R and they’re just OK; flexible but still lack coverage in the front footwells. And the rear mats are separate versus a one piece across the whole floor.

I also picked up the WeatherTech Cargo/Trunk Liner and am not super impressed with it. It’s more of a rigid plastic, fits poorly, and does not stay put—I’m constantly shoving it back from the rear hatch. It does do a good job of containing spills though.

if I were to do it again I would probably go OEM—from what I’ve seen they look nicer and fit better.

I have experience with Toyota OEM all weather mats and Husky all weather mats. Husky was by far better than Toyota OEM ones.

I think Weather test floor liners are equally good as Husky.

I remember someone installed Lasfit mats and them seems to cover pretty well as well.

I have weathertechs for my fronts and passengers. Been 4 years and they are holding up great.

For my cargo area I went with Husky liners though because they offered more coverage at the time

Someone posted this in a FB group. It’s OEM vs Husky.

I debated floor liners/mats for a bit and ended up with the WeatherTech All Weather Mats (not liners). IMO, they're better quality and coverage for OEM, and work perfect for a daily driver.

I originally ordered a set of Husky Liners, but they never sat flush at the door sill and I would frequently catch my foot on it as I entered the truck. I laid them out in the sun, tried heating them up...they always looked warped and never sat like the pictures you see online.

Finally gave up on the idea of a liner (as they typically overlap the door sill) and went with the WeatherTech Mats.

I have the all weather trd pro mats front and rear passengers (came with the truck)
I really like them both look wise and functionality. My only gripe is that it says “pro” on them. Might try to get rid of these 3 letters (I’ve been debadging everything on the truck that says pro and keeping only the trd letters)

in the trunk I’ve got a husky one. I like it as well.

First post for me, just joined and getting a 4Runner soon. I'm a fan of the Husky X-Act Contours. I've had them in a Tundra, Grand Cherokee, and currently a Tacoma. We've got the Husky WeatherBeater's in my wife's Lexus. Coverage is great with both the Husky liners, but the X-Act Contours are a better material. My feet slide when driving my wife's car, but not in my Tacoma. My Tacoma is a 2016 and I got the X-Act Contours as soon as they were available, had the same set for over 5 years now, so they are solid from a durability standpoint. Planning to get the X-Act Contours once my 4Runner shows up.

I really like tuxmats. They cover more than most laser fit mats. Great warranty. Lifetime for original owner so if they fray or get any damage they will replace it. I plan on buying a set for my 4runner soon.

The first thing I do after buying a new vehicle, is order a set of Weathertech. I have to deal with Buffalo Winters.

I really like them. Great coverage and much better than Toyota all weather mats.

Weathertech is the way to go. I have always had weathertech in all my vehicles one of the first things I order besides tint and a dashmat. The weathertech paired with adams polishes floor mat cleaner is awesome. My wife’s first 4Runner a 2012 had husky liners in them passed down from her parents and they always were lifted at the door sills we would always catch our feet getting into the vehicle. Weathertech has never given me problems and they fit perfectly and save the interior floor from any debris/spills. Where I live we experience all 4 seasons in the same day sometimes. Never have had a problem with them when it snows and it contains all of the nastiness that comes along with the snowy weather.

I prefer weathertech over oem and husky but that’s just my opinion. I can add pictures of the how the weathertechs look inside the vehicle if needed

I have ordered OEM, Weathertech, Lasfit, Husky and Oedro.
For me, Oedro fits and "feels" the best, Lasfit second, Husky third, Weathertech is far too plastic feeling, OEM doesnt provide enough coverage.
Price wise/fit wise, Oedro just works.

EDIT: the new Weathertech HD looks promising, but very expensive

I’ve had weathertech on my 1st tundra, I didn’t like the hard plastic feel. The edges does sit as flush to the curvatures of the carpet as I wanted it too.

I have husky in my 4th gen 4Runner, I like the fit a lot better. Same coverage (IMO) as the weather tech. It lays down a lot nicer than WT.

My 5th gen has OEM and I don’t like it. Does not cover nearly as much as I want it too. I’m going to order lasfit. Read reviews and it looks to have a lot more coverage than the two I have.

My WeatherTechs were in my garage a month before my 4Runner arrived at the dealer. Mine came with carpet mats (still in a bag) and all weather mats that went straight on my shelf. I've been keeping vehicles longer these days and they've always worked well for me. I had them for 7 years in my 2009 Tacoma that I just sold and were still in great shape. They fit well and in our wintery environment they're a must have to keep the carpet in good shape where I live.

I had Husky's on an older vehicle and wasn't a fan of the look, pretty industrial with a checker plate pattern but the pictures on here they look really good now. More similar style to WeatherTechs. For the rear cargo area I didn't put much thought into it and just ordered the standard WeatherTech mat, now looking at the Husky option earlier I would probably have picked that one instead. Seems to cover the edges better and probably stay in place better too. My WeatherTech likes to slide out when I lift things out of the back and doesn't have the "wings" where the floor flares out behind the rear wheels, mine is just a square mat.

Had zero issues with the OEM but you can find better coverage from some of the aftermarket options. Don't think you can go wrong, it just comes to personal preference.

I've had the Weathertech, husky, maxliner, now have stuck with the Maxpider 3D Kagu mats. Thinner and just as tough. A bit classier.
