Checked this forum a few times and finally decided to join. Always loved 4Runners. Had an 87, 2004 Sport, and now my wife has a 2018 Limited. Almost took it over but couldn't be without a truck so ordered a new Tacoma last year. Regretted getting rid of both the 87 and 04 Runners.

Here's the 87 and the 18 the day we took delivery. The 87 was gutless but put it in 4Hi and it would go through anything. Wife's 18 is getting new tires in a few weeks. Was thinking of levelling it but just going to go with some more aggressive tires.

Back in the day, I wanted a T4R of the vintage of your 87. I have always liked the looks and body lines of those years. My first Toyota was a 79 2WD HiLux that was indestructible. Lots of years went by before I got my first T4R, my 2019.

When we had the 87 we didn't have a garage so had no where to put the top so we never took it off. Wish I still had it. Mind you, after 25 years of Canadian winters there probably wouldn't be anything left of the body. Even when we bought it, the salesman told us we would probably replace the body 2-3 times before we touched the engine. When we had it for sale people that looked at it had friends that had one with 750k km's on it.
