    Waiting on a 2023…
I put a deposit on a 2023 SR5 Premium 2 weeks ago. I will be a first time 4Runner owner after a disaster of a GMC Yukon Denali that was in the shop more than at my house. With less than 70,000 miles, it’s on it way to the junk yard… I digress.

How long have people been waiting for their new 4Runners? I am very picky so my list of “must haves” is very long so I think I may never end up getting my hands on new and may be better off searching for a pre-owned.

Just call dealerships, you will find ones that aren’t spoken for. I called one, they had a limited coming in that wasn’t spoken for yet, I tossed down deposit and boom in a month and like 6 days it was at dealership.

Too bad there isn't a thread that talks about wait times.

I put a deposit in. Was told it was going to be 14 moths for a Lunar Rock ORP @ MSRP. I called around and got one coming 3 weeks after my call with a 3K Mark up.

Mine just arrived. I placed the order in mid August... 2 months! It is a 2023 TRD Off Road (Lunar Rock). This was a Canadian purchase.

Many people will simply put their name on a waitlist & wait it out. The timeline on that appears to range pretty drastically.

If you want one sooner rather than later, start looking around. I’ve done it for both my Tundra & new 4Runner expected at the end of the month.

Both processes from start to finish will end up taking about a month & a half. MSRP for both.

Like someone else pointed out, avoid paying a markup if possible. The market is starting to change. The longer folks pay a markup, the longer they’ll continue to hang around for other consumers. A little bit of patience & a lot of due diligence can go a long way.

Good luck on your search. The Yukon was one of my choices before the 4R I am primarily towing and recreation and wanted a full frame SUV. In the end I just did not trust GM quality but loved the vehicle. Glad I chose the 4R. Sorry you had to go through that

I went in to my local dealership 17 days ago and I told them the color and options and got this, a 23 TRD Off Road Premium with Predator Package.

You can also go to the popular car sites and search for 2022/2023 T4Rs.
Most dealership with smartpath capabilities list vehicles in production/enroute even before they arrive at the lot.

Got mines that way. MSRP. Paid for accessories at listed prices as well.
I did however get a mandatory maintenance/free car rental package --- Which is really worth it
    Arrived within days.

Put a deposit down on the 6th of this month, got a call this morning saying it just hit the lot & we closed the deal & were in & out from the dealership in 2 hours.

We got extremely lucky with only having looked for a week before they got an extra allotment on this Pro. I have to say, there were a few folks holding their breath that we weren’t going to show up to actually buy it.

My experience was just the opposite. Purchased the same color 2023 TRD Pro from Earl Stewart in West Palm Beach. Ordered Jun 2021, delivered Oct 2022! Benefit was no ADM. Great dealership.

I got lucky. An old coworker of mine, sister is the inventory manager of one of the dealerships in Maryland where I live. She was able get me 2023 Lunar Rock TRD OFF-ROAD non premium, as it was still on the ship heading to the U.S.
I put the deposit down on 9/26/22, and picked up on 10/21/22. I got lucky as hell4CD93B75-81B2-4506-8E73-DC563F288292.jpg

Went in to get a used Sienna for the wife. Saw the TP laughed at our sales guy that I’d buy it at MSRP. He called our bluff apparently they are having a hard time moving the color.

I put a deposit on October 6, the TRD off-road was delivered to the dealer October 31st. I was out of the dealership in two hours the same day. The dealer let me pay cash.

I walked into the nearby dealership October 15th and told the salesman that I wanted a 4Runner. We sat down and looked at what was en route and then I put down a $500 deposit on one that was coming in (4x2 SR5 with no factory options) and paid for it three days later when it arrived. I paid $1,000 below MSRP. This is my second 4Runner, my first one I bought new in June, 1984.

I'm amazed you had to put a deposit down for a 4x2. Longo in LA has about 95 of the 4x2 on the lot waiting for a sale.

I'm just a few miles from where Hurricane Ian made landfall on 28 September and about 360,000 cars were lost. There are no new cars in dealership lots and most coming in are reserved. The 4x2 was exactly what I was looking for and I didn't want it to slip away. A perfect daily driver for me. Toyota gave me $1,000 off because my 100 series Land Cruiser went under six feet of water during the hurricane and got totaled.

My condolences on your losses what they may be from the hurricane. I have friends with second winter homes down there that were damaged but they are fortunate to still have another home to live in up north. The losses are surreal. I am glad you were able to find another vehicle. Prayers for all.

That's very thoughtful of you, thank you. I'm here to write about it which can't be said for scores of others. A Land Cruiser I can replace. Thank you.

Picked mine up last night. Put a deposit down Sept 26 and it left Japan same day. Arrived in Portland on Oct 10. Nov 1 dealer let me know it would be in by the 12th but wouldn’t know until day of. Got the call late yesterday morning. upload_2022-11-10_22-25-32.jpg

Just went through the process. I know this is a thread about wait time but for those looking, you need to shop around. This was my first new car since 2007 and I was disgusted with the local dealership. Pro Premiums were marked 8k over MSRP and that’s where they started the negotiation with a sob story about lack of inventory, supply chain problems, etc. What a crock. They’re making record profits. Anyway, shopped around and a dealer about 90 minutes away said they’d do MSRP and discount all of the $2600 of overpriced options already added on a SR5 Premium. Took about a week. Picking it up Tuesday.

Yes, def look around. I had contacted two dealerships near me one an hour n a half drive the other a 3 hour drive. Both were doing markups of $3,000+. Went to a dealership 15 mins away in Colorado who usually has ridiculous prices of being in a small rural area and was lucky enough to put deposit same day for below MSRP. Took 3 weeks for delivery, this was a few months back and not a 2023. Just adding my two cents but yes definitely better to shop around or at least look a few different places if possible

sorry to hear about the problems with the Yukon...and not all of 'em, are lemons....I know a couple of friends, who have 'em..and they have been stout....and I've seen a few Toyotas, that could be labeled LEMONS..so every car company, does have 'em from time to time...anyhow, congrats on your new ride....may many miles of trouble free motoring, awaits

We put a deposit on a SR5 Premium in August and we are picking it up this week. Dealer said they aren’t marking them up and only selling locally and to repeat customers. Could be true, could be a sales gimmick but we’re happy we’re getting a 5th
