I gotta say, at first I was hesitant spending the extra cash for the non rise but i don't regret my decision at all. I really like the look of it and it's been very practical whether it is for stand up paddle boards or long ikea furniture boxes :D

Took a two week trip to go off-roading with our daughter and son-in-law in Vermont. Traveled from FL thru GA, NC, West VA, Va, Penn, Conn and Vermont. Below are a few pics from our trip.

Camped at the top of Green Mountain, VT. In front of my 4R, is my son-in-law's 20 year old Toyota Land Cruiser he had imported from Australia. It has a 6 cylinder diesel engine, and he did a whole customization on the inside and cut the top off and put on pop up tent.

Heading south next week for an early Christmas visit: Nevada, AZ, So Cal. Down along the Cascades, Sierras and southern Rockies! Replaced my taillight blackouts today, programming addresses into navigation. Editing what CDs to take. Next week, lube and oil change, check air pressure and WASH it (annual fall washing). Pack warm and warm-weather clothing, gifts (My daughter and son-in-law are getting two Phillipson cane fly rods with Orvis reels, nephew gets the kukri my dad brought back from Burma in WWII, daughter gets an ivory Buddha dad brought back from India). Made a diorama in 1/64 scale of my uncle's speed shop (well, a fantasy concept) with some of the famous race cars that were in it for my brother. Connecting with an ex-sister-in-law and a niece and two nephews that we haven't seen in 20 over years (BAD fight over my mom's inheritance=everyone dis-owned him)

I was just going through the address book to get addresses to enter into the navigation system and it made me sad to realize how many have passed ove: some to war, some to disease, a few to accidents and some to old age!:(:(:(:(

The Knitted Brow, looks like a great trip. We live 70 miles north of the Mexican border. Every once in a while we drive down to the border, park on the American side and walk across to have lunch in the little town of Palomas. It’s always a fun day and the restaurantB1A2BEC4-6225-4141-8CFC-D9192C565A61.jpg is filled with Americans.

My plan was to continue to skirt the border along highway 9 in NM as well. However, while at Amistad National Recreation Area, the heating rod in the water tank collapsed into the water tank, while fixable, I decided to head home along I-10. Otherwise, I would have driven past Palomas too. Thanks for sharing.

Made it up to Twin Lakes Reservoir for a mountain weekend with a bunch of friends. Sadly I'm the only one who made it up before both major highways closed do to unsafe conditions. Man I love my 4R!
