What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

if anyone is looking for a set of 24 black OEM style lug nuts for aluminum wheels let me know. I have a brand new set never out of the psckage. Bought them but they were wrong for my FX Pro wheels.

Yes as long as you're buying OEM TRD wheels not the FN Wheels improved version. They're the same design as the OEM chrome lugs, just black.

yes, black lug nuts. The rig is set up as sold by the dealer, I haven't added anything since purchasing it.

 

Ordered a set of 3/4" Cornfed rear spacers to get a little more height out of the back. ToyTec lift set to 3" up front with their 2" rear springs does not sit level. Can't stand the rear squat!

 

Well I picked up the truck yesterday after 2.5 weeks and a redo I described earlier. I still wasn't happy with the hinge alignment so I stopped at the dealer and had my service advisor look at it. He agreed it wasn't right and to call the body shop's manager, which I did and he's agreed to make it right. However after I got home and really looked at it, I found it was still completely unacceptable and I'm pissed I even picked it up. Here's the list of shit we found wrong...it's looong:
1. Spoiler is hitting the body on the right passenger side when tailgate is open (creating new paint damage)
2. Dent in upper left tailgate under window
3. Paint lines clearly visible down the sides of tailgate (especially on right passenger side)
4. Paint overspray on edges of tailgate (finish feels rough)
5. Damage to both sides of tailgate garnish where garnish was pried off
6. Right passenger appliqué chipped at bottom
7. Chrome 4Runner emblem on garnish is nicked and scratched
8. Foam gaskets for the garnish bolts were not installed after specifically leaving a message with the adjuster that they were a one time use item because they compress and will cause paint rubbing issues over time
9. Something rolling/rattling inside of tailgate
10. Left and right side headliner was not properly installed (headliner not tucked back behind plastic, looks pinched and creased)
11. Mark in paint to the right of the license plate and a couple small places where paint is not smooth (not sanded/chip painted over?)
12. Left side of spoiler has some play.

I'm in utter disbelief that any reputable shop could allow this.

 

Sounds like a total POS body shop. I would call my insurance company a demand it be done by another shop. Sounds like this shop is completely incompetent and I wouldn't trust them to air in my tires let alone fix everything they screwed up. You need to tell us the name and location of this shop so it can be completely avoided by others in the area.

 

I've called the insurance and bitched a fit. They offered up other shops as it now has a lifetime warranty on it. We are going back to original shop tomorrow and giving it to them. I dunno that I'll let them touch it again at this point even though the shop manager is now involved. I was so mad I couldn't see straight after finding all this. It's AutoNation Collision Center in Las Vegas.

 

Manager involved or not, he still has employees that think this is OK. Big reflection on the quality of the shop. I'd go back, rip into them, show everything they screwed up, make it know you will not trust them to get it right and another shop will be fixing it. Totally unacceptable, they are no excuses for things like this. Brand new truck, it should be perfect.

I agree. This is completely ridiculous. I plan to do just that. I just need to call the insurance again for the list of select service providers.

You need to read the manual on proper flag display. The Union is the most important part of the flag, when on a casket the Union is over the heart, when on a vehicle the Union goes forward, NOT the stripes.
