5th gen 4Runners in scenic locations

My BS is in Marine Biology=worked as a "Fish and Wildlife Biologist" for 21+ years.

 

Here’s a few from my recent trip to Glacier

 

Teton National Park, WY. Right before entering Yellowstone. My first time around here. All the views and scenery is just amazing.

 

Chess guy, Mormon Row, Grand Teton NP

 

Both look like they're from the Jackson are. ChessGuy: Near the "fancy ranch restaurant" south of town? River in the foreground.

 

BearBio, yes. Mormon Row is directly across from the entrance to GTNP. It is world famous for photographers. When I took this picture years ago, there had to be at least a hundred other photographers taking the same picture. It was lightly raining that morning. Another picture from that same day.

 

Been there done that! Stayed at Motel 6 in Jackson=listened to the elk bugle from the parking lot! Yellowstone is a favorite=go every 3 years or so=late fall just before they close=no crowds, elk bugling, geese migrating and crisp weather with autumn leaves! Usually come from the west side and out the east. Second favorite park, after Denali!

 

Those mountains look impossible lol. Beautiful area. I was out west a while ago, it’s hard to take it all in!

 

We live in the eastern Cascades foothills. Lots of views like that if you catch the seasons right and look for them! Going down south along the east side of the Cascades and Sierras to SoCal in a while. Last year caught a blizzard out of Carson City and came back over the Rockies. Rocky Mtn Nat's Park pass was closed already.

Been back east for training with Dept. of Interior=couldn't stand living in such a flat area!

 

Engineer pass outside of Ouray, Colorado -12,800 elevations

 

Broke down just North of Durango in a snowstorm in my '87 Toyota SR5 P/U. Coming back from a deer hunt in WY.

 

Well that sucks. Did you at least get a deer? And stay warm?

 

This might not be scenic enough...but it has two 4R in it (red and blue) and the Elk wondering around. You guessed it right...Yellowstone at Mammoth springs.

 

Got a 4x4 mulie but no antelope (couldn't get a landowner tag!). Got a 6x6 bull the year before! Ate on the mulie, the elk, a wild pig, albacore and birds all through grad school!

Warm=yeah. There weren't enough outfitter tents so we (2 couples=my wife had signed on as camp cook=that re-paid for my trip!) chased out 1/2 dozen barn owls, sealed up the rat holes and moved into a deserted farmhouse at camp. With just 2-3 Coleman lanterns and down bags, it was really toasty!

My daughter lives in Flag. One granddaughter in Tucson=other in Anchorage (military)--she is on her way to CO.

 

Nice! I'm making the move out to AZ at the end of the year and it can't come soon enough!

 

Muddying, I’m just across the Az/NM border right above I-10. About 3 hours from Tucson.

 

Drove from Yellowstone today to Mt Rushmore, SD. About an 8hr drive with a few stops. Wyoming has so much too offer though, a beautiful state. I think we will come back.
