I know, thankfully I live in a small town and know most of the cops and sheriffs.

Thanks! I think tint does wonders to a vehicle appearance wise even if it’s not super dark

What lift do you have on your silver one in your profile pic?

Well we got back from the summer trip and all went great other than getting 14MPG out on the interstate doing 85MPH. I would like to know MPG all of the other new owners are getting. I didn't buy this for great MPG but thought it would at least get 18MPG. 100_4971.jpg

I think between the newer heavier tires, roof rack, 85mph and the aerodynamics of a barn door contributed to the mpg result.
Myself, while waiting for the delivery I was dead set on getting tires like yours but the astronomical rise in fuel prices and warranty on the shimmy I decided to keep the Oem Bridgestones and pump them up for less rolling resistance, I don’t care if they wear evenly.

I agree that I should have taken the roof basket off. I had asked several members about this matter and they said they got 19MPG on the open road with the same basket and BFG tires. I left it on just to see if it would be noisy and it wasn't bad but it would be covered in bugs in 300 miles and you could feel it up there at freeway speed. I will be removing it today actually because it would be nice to be able to do the drive through car wash once and a while.
The tires are stock size and load range "C" that are just slightly heavier than the Dunlop that came on it. I ran the BFG's at 38 PSI and next time I will try 42 PSI and hope that helps.
I wasn't flooring the gas pedal when getting up to speed and don't get me started on the cruise control dropping down to 4th gear constantly. Out on the flat land interstate I like to use the cruise control but I couldn't because it would instantly drop to 4th gear.
We also were not loaded down very heavy. It was just 3 people myself, wife and 16 year old daughter. All of us are not large people and our combined weight was 475 and baggage was less than 100 LBS with only a small lunch cooler for drinks.

Slowing from 85 to 75 would prob get you a big mpg gain. MPGs start dropping quick after 70mph. Even at 80mph you mighta got 17mpg. Upwind or downwind makes a big difference too.

You will get ran over by everyone including Semi trucks if you go less than 85 MPH out on Interstate 84 or I-15 down in Utah where we travel mostly. On the way home from seeing my wife's family in Elko Nevada we drove two lane US Highway NV-225 S & ID-51 S to Mountain home Idaho and I was going 65MPH to 70 MPH and it went up to 15.2 MPG and that's no where close to the 19 MPG everyone else was stating. I didn't buy it for MPG but was hoping for better MPG for sure.

I’ve done some long distance trips recently with mods like a Sherpa roof rack, 2” lift, and heavier Falken AT tires. If I use cruise control I only get about 17 MPG at 70 MPH as it seems like the transmission likes to hold 4th gear. Without cruise I’ve been able get get around 20 MPG averaging around 70 MPH. I’ve read other people report similar experiences.

It happens! I got similarly lucky! In May of 2021, I was checking online multiple times daily thru all of the local dealership inventories within about an hour of me. I checked a local dealership that showed two 4R's at 10 pm on a Friday night (not the models I wanted) and very randomly checked again the following day around 12:00 pm and they showed four 4R's. One of them happened to be a Lunar Rock Pro that was inbound - which I wanted! I excitedly called knowing that it was probably spoken for. Apparently someone else ordered it, tired of the wait, and found another one elsewhere. I happened to be the first to inquire. They said it would be there in eight days and it showed up in five days. I paid $2,000 above MSRP ($54,000) which was a fairly good deal at the time. I didn't want to haggle with them since they probably could have sold it for $5,000 above MSRP in 24 hours if they wanted to. Plus I got $4,000 more on my trade-in than I expected!

With concerns about the future of the economy, drops in the stock market and the rise in interest rates, there may be a lot of prospective buyers that placed deposits and have since reneged! Just gotta keep hunting!

On flat Interstates I get 20 mpg keeping her under 70 mph. Going 85 with inclines and A/C on I get 15. 2021 stock Pro -15 months old with 23,000 miles. Probably averaging 18.5 mpg as a daily driver on a variety of roads and highways.

Just got done towing ~2200 pounds 1100 miles including most of US 95 and can share a couple data points on MPG. Note that all towing is S4 or less, meaning no overdrive, and less efficient.
    - First two tanks of gas were both 15ish MPG including a couple passes/summits in Southern California. MPH was typically 70 or less
    - Third tank of gas was solidly 13 MPG with mostly flat and the same speed. I attribute that to the gas I purchased, not a change in the conditions or my driving.

After towing I had a few more tanks/miles without the trailer, and with overdrive. I saw 21mpg at <70MPH and it dropped off drastically after that. Last tank was all highway and mostly 80 MPHish and I think I averaged around 16mpg.

Vehicle is a 2022 4Runner with a Greenlane offroad rack and TRD Pro wheels/tires.

Hey folks. First post. Just picked up my new 4Runner yesterday. 2022 Midnight Black Metallic ORP with XP Predator package.
    07/30 - Placed deposit
08/05 - Got vehicle allocation and VIN reserved
    08/24 - Picked up new 4Runner!
Paid MSRP + ~$2100 in misc BS (Tint, Wheel Locks, Crossbars instead of forced LoJack...)

Based on what I've read through this forum, I feel pretty good about the price and timeline.

Just switched over from a 2015 Grand Cherokee Summit. Looking forward to having some fun and adventures with the Runner!

Yes. I thought that was included by default with the Premium. But, I didn't really look into it. Not a factor for me. They're cool to have that one time a year when I remember it's up there...

I did get the sliding cargo tray. That was important from me, coming from my Jeep that had a completely flat cargo area with the seats folded down. My seats are down 75% of the time. Plus, I get some minor "extra" storage with that option. I had all kinds of gear under my Jeep's cargo compartment lid, along with the spare tire.

I have 20% tint all round already.
Was trying to put 35% on top 20% front two windows
    and 35% top 5" windshield.

The tint guy not willing to do,

Quoted safety issues on dark raining nights. Will not be able to see any of the two side mirrors.

If you out 20% over the factory tinted glass on all the rear you could possibly have a shop strip your two front windows and add 15% instead of 5% unless u want it dark. People do apply tint in layers but I’d recommend against it

The main reason I didn’t get a Pro was it had a mandatory moon roof(along with the droning exhaust and awful roof rack).
It is supposed to be an “option” on the ORP.
My wife and I have had them on previous vehicles and dislike them, to pay $660 for an option you don’t want was what we didn’t like. ORP W/O the moon roof are pretty much impossible to find. Toyota shoves them down your throat, like it or not.

Well im just 4 days shy of 2 months and I gave in. Not for a premium with sunroof but a regular off road in black. The feaux leather or softex is really the only reason I wanted a premium. I guess im going katzkin on this one

Newbie here. We lucked out and found a LR ORP online at a dealership about an hour away. Called on 8/17 and they said it was still available and unbelievably, already at the port. Put a deposit on it right then. It was at the dealer on 8/23. 2k over MSRP. Still can't believe we lucked out. Picked it up on the 24th. Wife is super happy so that's always a plus.

Given that I’m in my late 60’s and my 1990 4R is still going strong after 32yrs, if this one last that long I’ll probably be in a walker by then.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
    Thank you,
It is the very best vehicle I have ever owned. Goldie was our front-line family car for 14yrs and my youngest son used for 6yrs it at college to get his degree. Now in retirement it is my around town air conditioned SxS. It has been garage kept about half its life. The driver side rear quarter is a little wrinkled. I am a bit anal on upkeep, I hate maintaining a dirty engine, here’s a pic from 2 months ago. About a month after I got it in 1990 I bought almost every possible rubber hose/gasket kit to have spares. About half the rubber you see is NOS, I knew I would have it a long time.

Mint condition gold nugget right there. The 22R shouldn't have any head gasket issues, I know the 3.0 v6 was the gasket killer
