2022 TRD Sport Mods

A few things I’ve done my lunar TRD sport this past weekend. Really liking the ground clearance without that thick rocker trim. Keeping these rims and getting them powder coated. Added the TRD pro grille which didn’t fit, but a little trimming did the trick. Thoughts so far though!?

 

That TRD grill looks so damn awesome.
I don't think my Limited would look good as yours since that middle piece is chrome on my Limited.

 

What color is your vehicle? I think it would just depend on the rest of the vehicle! And I’m sure you could get that piece wrapped in black or something to match it.

 

Mine is silver. Don't have a good pic on phone but this might give some idea how the front look.

 

I personally think with the silver it would look fine!

 

Keep us updated with the powder coating of the rims with more pictures! Have the same vehicle and want the same thing but need photo evidence for the wife to give me my cc back

 

What color powder coat? That grille looks great on the Sport with that body color.

Just black. And I agree! I just hope I have no issues with longevity because I really had to alter it to fit the sport.

I got it from a website called “kok auto parts” because it was on the cheaper end. I had to do a lot of trimming to get it to fit though.

Yes. These are powdercoated satin black. It was around $700. Well worth it since I like the wheels (just not the chrome), and I didn’t have to get new tires.
The center hubs were spray painted with bed liner quality paint, so it should hold

 

Nice! What’d you use for the TRD Sport emblems?

 

I actually replaced the emblems. I bought these.

I think these are for the Tacoma. The "Sport" text is a lot bigger than the original. But I just pulled the chrome pieces (adhered with double sided tape), and just stuck them on.

What did you use to trim the TRD Pro Grille? How much did you take off? I see you took off the rocker trim, what did you use for the end covers once you took it off?
