Just driving around town, I have seen numerous new ('21-22) Broncos for sale used. Any ideas WHY?

Probably because they are worried about the Engine blowing up and No recall yet to fix it as @Stoney Ranger put some links to I certainly would not want something like that Lurking beneath the hood.

Can you imagine 4 wheeling somewhere on a remote trail in your new Bronco and one of your valves fails and drops into the cylinder? The new FORD acronym could be “Found Off Road, Dead”.

Maybe because Ford decided to invest all of their time & money into politics over the last 2-3 years instead of QC. With every vehicle they try to revive from the past, it's been a gigantic swing and a miss IMO.

Does the Ford Foundation own the Ford Motor Company?
By 1947, after the death of the two founders, the foundation owned 90% of the non-voting shares of the Ford Motor Company. (The Ford family retained the voting shares.) Between 1955 and 1974, the foundation sold its Ford Motor Company holdings and now plays no role in the automobile company.

The reason you see so many Broncos for sale is simply because used Broncos and new Broncos are getting thousands of dollars over MSRP. Not uncommon to see higher trim Broncos up for sale with 15 or 20 thousand over MSRP markup.

If you read the Bronco forum you'll see a large number of accounts of dealers refusing to sell Broncos to the people that ordered them two years ago unless they pay 10+ over MSRP. This was not the agreed upon price but something the dealer surprised them with when the Bronco arrives at the dealer.

Some Bronco buyers are taking advantage of the market if they get their Bronco at MSRP and selling them for big bucks.

    Exactly this.

I have two neighbors with the new Broncos who are part of my off road group; I've driven them on road and off road. They have alot of things going for them, extremely capable off road (moreso than the 4R in my opinion, but that is splitting hairs and depends on setup and technique) with front and rear lockers, very high res cameras etc.. They soak up the bumps off road, almost like driving an S-Class, almost not as much fun. I drove one at 80mph home from an off road trip and it felt very solid, as solid as my S8, and they have quite a bit more pick-up than the 4R. All that said, I love my 4R and wouldn't swap it over for a Bronco. When we are out in the middle of nowhere, I know my truck will always start, wouldn't quite have that assurance with a new model from Ford, especially with the looming recalls etc.. My buddies with the Broncos also love my 4R and appreciate it for its attributes.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
They are dropping valves thus destroying the engine.

There is a certain production run that had the bad valves.
Then there is the fuel pump issue that will leave you stranded.
Oh and there are the breaking tie rods.

It may be a coincidence that Ford fired the quality control manager at the Ranger/Bronco plant. As Paul Harrell says "you be the judge".

Ford tired to do what everyone "wanted"... a offroad vehicle with smaller engine with turbos, and transmission with more gears.....

I hear people saying toyota should do the same thing with the 4runner... :bananadead:

I'm not hearing about any problems with the 2.3 turbo from Ford.

And, I have a lot more faith in Toyota to build a reliable turbo motor than Ford.

If that is the same Opel 2.3 that Ford has been using from the 70s, they have had a lot of time to get any bugs out of it. If this is the same engine, Ford also has decades of experience turbo and supercharging this engine. The problem with Ford seems to be the lack of investment in reliability, and further, the big wigs not listening to engineers when the big wigs want to release said product to the market. Should Ford ever surpass Toyota in reliability, I will still never buy one because of my past experience with the garbage they produce.

Yeah I would have had more faith in Toyota if it wasn’t for the apparent issue with some of the Tundras and the new drivetrain they have on the truck. I believe Toyota has a lot higher quality control and are working to reduce any issues with the 4Runner before going out as Toyota is well known for its dependability

For now I am hoping that the issues with the tundra are just first year bugs that will get worked out. This is also why, if I do decide to get a sixth gen 4Runner, I will probably wait for the second year.

It looks much better without the shitty looking fender flares.

Ford should have been more concerned with overbuilding the components instead of cutting weight and cost, use the 5.0 coyote engine, no turbos, superchargers or cylinder deactivation, a six speed trans with front and rear lockers. I bet Ford would profit more in the long run.
