    Hello,

My 4WD has been out for awhile. I thought it was the front diff actuator and it was seized it. Got it free, but 4WD still not working. After some research, I believe it's the T-Case actuator. Anyone know any methods of diagnosing the T-case overall?

Try hitting it with a rubber mallet then see if it will switch into 4wd. If that doesn’t work I remember someone on here had a really good write up on diagnosing the actuator. Good luck!

I've actually tried beating it with a mallet. It kinda worked, but it went back to not working.

When I put the car into the "ON" position. I can hear the t-case actuator moving. It makes 2 noises. When I beat it with the mallet, it would only do 1 of the noises. But after like 30 seconds, it went back to making the 2 noises and the lights started flashing again.

I would keep doing it if it were me. Just seems to me like it needs to be worked a little bit to losen it up. Our 4Runners get angry if the don’t switch into 4wd often. Sorry if I’m not much help I’m just trying to think of what I would do before spending the money on new parts.
