Stuck Lower Control Arms

Hey everyone, thank you for letting me join your group!

I had an issue where my rear shock snapped, and since I had the XREAS system only option seemed to be a new suspension all 4 corners.

The 4600s went in no problem in the back, however on the front everything came apart easily, but for the life of me I cant get the rear bolt on both sides to budge. The nut comes off, but I am unable to rotate the back to drop the control arm down.

I've tried:
Soaking in PB for a day
Beat the bolt forward with a hammer.
Lifting at the bottom of the hinge with Jack to try and release pressure
Hydrolic jack on a wrench under only lifts the car off the jack stands (cracked 2 sockets like this)
No dice with impact wrench

I'm not sure about heat, as it may destroy the bushing, but at this point does anyone have any other options? It's the same deal on both sides

If the bolt has bonded to the bushing and/or the bushing has bonded to the LCA, it is toast.

 

I had figured this was going to be an expensive day . Thanks everyone!

 

Order a rebuild kit from Rock Auto and DIY it, or get new pre-assembled LCAs and reduce your labor and need to press bushing out/in. It will save you a LOT of money.

 

Is it possible to unbolt the wheel side of the UCA on 4th gens? When I put in my coilovers in my 5th gen, I unbolted the LCA from the spindle and swung the LCA down, which gave enough room to slide the assembled coilover in.

 

It still won’t align right if those cams can’t turn.

 

Diablo metal cutting blades and a Sawsall, had to cut mine, only way I could get them off. Good luck!

 

Second the Diablo sawzall blades. Or Milwaukee Torch sawzall blades.

Then replace everything you cut out.
