Or at all... Unfortunately, the whole receiver area rusts up very quickly. At least in this neck of the woods...

I have one as well. I think it just makes the back end look more complete than an empty receiver…

I've never been able to keep one of these in with my tundra or our 4runner. i don't know if they are getting stolen or if they are getting blown off in the car wash.

Mine stayed in my Tacoma for 11 years. I had it on my 4Runner for a few months, but I considered it might actually make the rust worse by trapping salt in there.

Hmm... That's a good point, never thought of that. I put one in for the first time last February and it seems like the rust just popped up this Spring... However, it is the 3rd winter so maybe it was just 'time'.

A few years ago, my area switched from dropping the normal salt crystals to liquid salt. My 4Runner isn't even 4 years old yet, and I'm already seeing things rust faster than they did on my Tacoma.

The receiver hitch plugs are available on Amazon for $10....well worth buying one and a spare. ( Yes they are rubber, not hard plastic)

So needs to be made into an ashtray. Not that i ever used an ashtray for anything than holding change and small crap, but still. That and i would round the corners a bit to match the profile. Good find!

Gave her another bath today. But also gave her the clay bar and wax treatment. Vehicle is only a year old, but I was surprised at all the junk the clay bar pulled off (including on the roof).

(Now I just hope the neighbor doesn't cut his grass for a couple of days and blow it all on T4R )

Replaced the all the speakers, subwoofer and amplifier in my 2021 T4R TRDP. Sound system 100% better when you can control the amp with a DSP. Here are some pics of my weekend project. Infinity Primus PR9610cs 300w component speakers to replace the front door and dash speakers. I put crossovers in the center console behind the shifter. Lots of room there. Replaced the rear door and tailgate speakers with Kenwood KFC-1666S two ways. The stock JBL 8" subwoofer was replace with a Kicker 8" 44CWCD84 wired in parallel at 2.3ohms. The DSP is the Rockford Fosgate DSR1. Flashing it for my year 4Runner was very easy using my Windows laptop. Used the iDatalink Maestro eTO1 wiring harness for Toyota 4Runner with JBL. I chose the Rockford Fosgate Prime R2-750x5 amplifier to replace the stock JBL amp. Here are a few pics of the install. I have pics of the speaker install but did not include them here. I got a great deal on the Rockford Fosgate Prime R2-750x5 amplifier at Al&Ed's Auto Sound in Los Angeles. Saved around $90 vs Crutchfield and Amazon.

I run all my accessories from a fuse block attached to a separated auxiliary battery for that reason. Never had “gremlin” issues of any sort.

Thank you for this! I have been wanting to do this myself but have been hesitant b/c I couldn't find a workup/DIY write up. You just made my day!

This also makes it easy to get past the "but you have all this extra wiring" claims at the dealer. Just remove or trip the breaker and you're 99% disconnected.

Not trying to be a jerk, but why would anyone not just put them in a pocket so they don't make noise? The only reason I like push button start is because it eliminated noise from keys.

I either clip them on my pants or hang them there. Typically hang them there when I do extended trips or when I leave the truck running with the wifey and dog in it. I hate having crap in my pockets!

There's been a lot of complaints about push to start and not having an area to place keys. Figured I share a cheap and quick solution.:D

20220616_194914.jpg Didn’t all happened today, started few weeks ago, when time permited, most of it waiting for parts to arrive and looking for tools that I just used 2 minutes before hand. I swear that 10mm socket has legs. I put red electrical tape on it. It seems to help.

Cowboy59 has a great write-up on duel battery setup.
