2014 Fuel Pump Wire Color

    Does anyone have a schematic that can tell me what color the fuel pump wire under the drivers side sill plate is on a 2014 SR5? I want to install a kill switch and cannot seem to find any info on 5th gens. I do not want to start poking wires with a test light or splitting the harness far enough apart to use an amp probe. Thanks for any info.

    Your best bet would be to go to the Toyota Technical Information System, buy a 2 day subscription, and download all the wiring diagrams and other documentation for your model year. It takes a while to do it, it’s one document at a time. I have not seen any posts about how to implement a kill switch, whether by disabling the fuel pump or something in the ignition wiring. Maybe someone will respond.

    Looking at the wiring diagram around the fuel pump and it’s ECU, there are some wires you could possibly interrupt with a switch. Maybe the G-W wire to the fuel pump ECU. Or the Violet wire to the fuel pump relay. Or one of the Black or White wires going to the pump. The trick is to find a convenient location to access them. Let us know if you get this to work.

    So, you want to cut fuel, instead of just ignition (like a normal security system) ?

    Thanks ElectroBoy, This is much more than I had, it appears the black wire is the supply to the pump from the ecm if it doesn't change colors in route. I will let you know when I find it.
    And Kayblack76, yes the supply wire to the pump is what I'm looking for under the divers side sill plate harness. I have done several different vehicles in the past, no pump, no run. I don't want to interrupt ignition side in fear of the ecm sensing a problem and throwing codes.

    OK just an fyi follow up, Now that my back has healed enough to revisit my fuel pump kill switch install, I will probably be going another route for security. Thanks to ElectroBoy's schematic and a little more research, I have a better understanding of the fuel pump circuit. It's not just a hot wire and ground to the pump like vehicles I've done in the past, it's much more complex with a variable speed pump and constant monitoring by the ecu and the fpcm. Switching the green and white wire from the fuel pump relay would probably work, but......there is a good chance of throwing fuel trim codes because of all the ecu monitoring.
    Also I was exploring the 7.5 A “AM1” fuse idea, but it's tied into so different many circuits, including "Entune", (which I've had enough problems with), I'll probably just use the good ole' starter solenoid trigger wire switch when I figure out which wire that is. In the meantime, I'll keep using 2 "clubs", security cameras, and hope for the best. ElectroBoy, a Big Thanks for your help.

    did you ever end up doing the starter solenoid switch? if so, do you have details on the install? I was thinking of doing the fuel pump switch like you originally were but stumbled upon your thread.
