Yes apparently Revlon needs the $$ also; I see they filed for bankruptcy nothing like more good news for our rocking economy; sorry for all the ladies who like Revlon hopefully they can reorg.

Yeah...couldn't do it. I turned down the mag grey PRO. It's going to the next guy in line. I'm first up for a 2023 Solar Octane Pro. Could be September...could be next March. The waiting begins.

If I didn't just get my Lime Rush, then hell yeah I'd be in line for Solar Octane. I was kinda hoping I didn't like the '23 color so much. I think I still prefer the Lime, but it's close.

Also, good call on not taking the MG. I love the color, but not over a Voodoo Blue

Yeah..the Voodoo Blue really pops. I had two 4Runners that were magnetic grey. Great color but I drove black, white, grey and silver cars for many decades. It's nice having something that stands out.

I get it. I used to have some bright red cars and they stood out in the sun.

I would just rather have $58k stand out in my bank account more so during these times.

Maybe another time perhaps 7th gen if I live that long

We are definitely headed for a few years of brutal economic times, that's for sure.

Do you have any idea how many 30-40 year olds are extremely wealthy? People without advanced degrees may suffer. But there are plenty of people who won’t be bothered unless there is civil unrest.

Absolutely many are wealthy and blessed I am one of those fortunate to be. However my point was that unless we get a 8% raise each month to offset inflation or someone is investing in a different stock market than most our ability to save is that much less. Hence none of us college educated folks are getting ahead as much as we were. Can many absorb it sure absolutely.

I feel more so for say folks who are retired. Here the markets are in the tank and you absorb losses as you need to withdraw out of retirement accounts.

You’re right there are a lot of us out there that can take the hit for now anyway.

Perhaps.....all that wealth is causing prices to skyrocket. Prices are so far out of whack compared to what things cost. In 1970, a decent salary was $10k a year. But you could buy a nice house for $20K. If you're making $150K right now, good luck finding a decent house for $300K. You can't do it in my area. I bought my condo for $340K, in 2011. The one across the street just sold for $689K. My pay has not doubled in that same time. And anyone that has put gas in their car, bought groceries or building materials will tell you that inflation is a lot more than 8%.

Anyway we slice it, none of this is good and it’s getting worse by the day.

I agree the Dow has been hammered this year, dropping from the all time high of 36k to Friday's close just under 30k. Even with that 20% loss, Friday's close is still higher than the all-time high of 29k days before everything tanked in March of 2020. While the drop was significant, some of the gains we've been seeing were nonsensical and disconnected from reality. Below is a chart of the last 20 years for reference. I would not have expected a full recovery prior to the end of 2020 then such aggressive growth in the subsequent 12 months in the shadow of the ongoing pandemic, labor shortage, supply chain issues and so forth.

Having said that, timing matters. I have a good friend who retired around 10 years ago and benefited from years of strong growth so he's not as concerned as someone who has recently retired or was considering it. This is definitely a challenging environment whether you're accumulating/working or withdrawing/retired. If it follows the pattern of the Great Recession this hangover will last a while but in the 10 years since the Dow doubled. Hang in there.

2,000+ McMansions in my brothers development alone. Tens and tens of thousands more in his city, with an endless number waiting to be built.

There is so much $$ to be had out there it’s almost unfathomable. And with so many remote positions available you don’t even need to live in these exotic communities if you don’t want to.

Yeah, there’s a recession coming. But it will pass. Just ignore the “noise” being pushed by certain groups.
