LOL. No, you're just not allowed to chase down joggers and shoot them. There's a difference. Sorry you're feeling persecuted.

    Here's my EDC:

Rifles and shotguns are classified as non-concealable firearms in California. This means they are not subject to the same requirements as handguns, so they do not need to be kept or transported in a locked container in your vehicle, like a handgun. However, they must be unloaded whenever they are in your car.

I’ve thought about carrying a shotgun in the 4R for peace of mind when traveling and wilderness camping. But I carry so much stuff now I don’t know where I would stash it.

would you point me in the direction of this law?? I just took a look and it says it still needs to be in a locked container out of sight and affixed to a vehicle. I’m actually interested.

edit: never mind. I think I found what you are talking about. It doesn’t look like there aren’t any rules! Like you said, just has to be unloaded!! That’s pretty cool! Never knew

I think the laws keep changing, getting repealed, etc. You're still not allowed to carry in places like school parking lots, wildlife refuges, public transit places. And @ElectroBoy check out ceiling racks; they're pretty secure and cannot be seen from outside the vehicle. https://www.walmart.com/c/kp/automotive-gun-racks?facet=brand:Big+Sky+Racks
