Is this about how the Landcruiser was modeled after a Willy's Jeep?

I thought everyone knew that already. :D

Sorry. I actually didn't know that until a few years ago, either. I was just being a smart-ass.

Wasn't trying to be a dick.

Even Jeep has a Jeep or several deep in their closet, there's no longer any "REAL" Jeeps made ever since Chrysler took over unfortunately!

    Lol!

J is the chassis code. F was the engine series

The old diesels we're actually BJ's (Giggidy).

I wouldn't actually be surprised if the J stood for Jeep.

Sadly, I know I fair amount about Toyota chassis codes. Older ones, especially.

Technically, Jeep has the American Bantam Car Co deep in its closet as well. They made the initial design for the army, which was given to Ford and Willys Overland to refine. Willys ultimately won. Wiki even says that the vertical bar front end design was from Ford lol!

Interestingly, Bantam started out making British Austins under license in the US.

    So basically…. jeeps are British?!?

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
These days, Jeeps are Italian and French.

I have allways had Toyota’s but just bought 2 new jeeps last year , I liked my old CJ’s but do really like the new JL versions but they are still big toys .
4runner is way better for everyday use compared to a jeep .
My jeeps really are over priced big toys , Only reason I bought them I go insane deal on both are Rubicon Diesels , one JLU and one Gladiator .
Biggest positive with new jeep rubicons 35’s bolt and fit , even the TPMS just recognizes the sensors as long as they are the same MHz , no need to program ECU .
These are just toys to me and I would take a 4runner over a jeep if I had to have one vehicle .5584C81B-0B42-4E8E-B901-D5D7A7B8D65A.jpg
