What do 4Runner owners do for a living?

Worked in Aerospace manufacturing for 10+ years as a CNC Machinist/Precision Grinder. Worked on some cool projects such as gear boxes for the Curiosity Mars rover.

For the last 8 years I've been in medical device manufacturing. Company I work for makes all sorts of parts for companies like Abbot, Medtronic, and Boston Sci. I do mold design for silicone and plastic injection molding. When I have time, I support our CAM programmers, and CNC equipment.

I was a Hollywood Marine, as well.

I spent most of my time with VMFAT-101 in Yuma. For my last year, they sent me to 333 (Trip-Trey) in Beautiful Beaufort by te Sea. When they transitioned to the Hornets, I transitioned to 401, back in Yuma, and doubled my salary. Yes, I was a civ then.

After they got rid of the Kfir, and the Israelis, I got a nice job out at the Aerostat, still in Yuma. Doubled up again. Nice, although I hated Yuma from the day I arrived.

I also was a Rifle/Pistol coach for a year and a half, and early on, I was in charge of IMA's Corrosion Control shop. Last I looked, they still had some for the signs I made for Avionics Division while I was there.

So yeah, I was a Winger, but a few other jobs, too.

R&D engineer (degree in mechanical) and manager of manufacturing engineering dept. for a DOD contractor.

 

I owned a commodities trading firm (partnership) in Sonoma CA. Sold out at the right time. My wife has her own professional path which obviously helps as well. No complaints at any level though, even now I’m writing this beachfront at Hilton Head (brought the 4Runner) … as is often said, timing is everything.

 

The day is done, had a great time kayaking in the salt marsh with the dolphins followed by an afternoon on the beach watching a huge thunderstorm roll in. Now I’m on the deck with a rum n coke enjoying the rain and enjoying my favorite car/truck forums!

 

BTW, PhantomTweak, the picture I posted is looking directly at Parris Island which you can just barely see on the horizon.

I spent my first 3 years as a ground pounder. I then retook my ASVAB and Lat moved to logistics for 24 years, much easier life. I was a Drill Instructor in Hollywood so no hate there : ) . I'm still employed and support the Marine Corps as a Defense contractor out of Charleston SC.

yup. people that get banned rarely come back and stay in good graces. eventually the behaviors that got them banned in the first place resurface. then its rinse, wash, repeat.

 

My oldest daughter spent her entire Navy career as a loggie, mostly assigned to the Geo. Washington. Once she retired after 20, she went to work for a landscaping company, same job. I still have no idea why, but she wound up married to a jarhead that got booted out for being a fat-body. They're still married, and he got fatter over the years. NO idea why she married him at all...

My middle daughter was a loggie at Camp Pendleton. Spent a couple years "over there". Where the sand is. She keeps after me to sell her my 87 pickup, that she learned to drive in. Wants to teach her sons to drive a manual in it.

I think I’m kinda feeling sorry for you for some reason. It was you in fact that implied I was “wasting” my time on the forum. I chose to post about a fantastic day I had kayaking and then relaxing enjoying this forum which I read every night. For some reason you went off the handle and have been calling me names like “pompous” and “egotistical”? Now, you are even changing “nimby”s name to “Dimby” in some attempt to insult him and put him in his place by insinuating he cannot read and process the information. As for the kayaking, not sure how this is a “glorious” pastime, maybe you dont realize there are many threads right here in this very forum from guys about carrying kayaks and using them.

Maybe you should check your anger. Telling me to “KMA” when I have NEVER said anything to anyone on this forum ugly or aggressive but you seem to have no problem doing so.

Just purchased my first 4Runner and joined this awesome forum. 2014 Limited 4WD in mint condition with 120K miles. Serviced at dealer every 5K miles by PO. Moving forward, it will only be serviced by myself.

 

Looking good and service history is always a plus...what kind of dog is that it looks like a hairy black lab mixed with something else lol
