Voodoo blue non-pro??

I'm in Hawaii right now, and yesterday I drove by a voodoo blue 4Runner. I was driving so I couldn't inspect it, but it had no badging on the side, regular non-pro roof rack, and Limited wheels. Was there a Limited voodoo blue sold outside of mainland USA? Maybe in Japan? Or did this guy just really prefer Limited wheels?

Btw, this place has to be the Jeep and 4Runner capital of the world!

 

Probably just island shenanigans. No such model exists.

And depending on the island, there are also a lot of Tacomas.

 

That's what I figured. I'm just so used to people making other models look like a Pro, not the other way around, lol. And yes, tons of Tacomas!

They were only sold in Hawaii. I think they're a bit different from the "Predator" dealer packages in the southeast because they had to be painted that way from the factory (whereas the XP junk is all bolted onto a stock trim). Weird little one-off.

But the dirty secret is they were all rear wheel drive. By the way, some were painted blizzard pearl, which is a Limited color.

I think if you do a VIN search on them the 4Runners come up as SR5s.

 

Yep I think you're right. SR5 with goofy stuff from different trims bolted on. That's kinda what Toyota is doing now with the Nightshade, TRD sport, etc. Trying to get a few more miles out of this thirteen year-old dead horse.

 

if you zoom in on the 4runner you'll notice it has side mirrors w/out the turn signals. that's base SR5 (and surprisingly Pro) side mirrors.

 

Available only in 2019 and only in Hawaii. You're an angry man.
