Now all I do is move snow around in the winter and do yard weed and tree control the rest of the year. And reload ammo to see how well my stuff can shoot. Groups of 5 shots at 100 yards with a .223:

    Yes, very nice groups indeed.
Excellent reload QC. Now do it right. Set your short range sights, presuming you're using the weapon's iron sights, to around 300 meters, and see what kind of groups you can get. Then flip up the large rear sight, and see what you get at 500 meters.

When I was in the Corps, we had to qual once a year, or every other year at the worst. 200, 300, 500 meters. 1 day of practise, to get the sights set, then qual the next day. On a still day, no wind, I saw a Drill Instructor fire a 4" group at 500 meters. Offhand (standing), holding the weapon 1 handed. The weapon is capable of amazing feats of accuracy, if the shooter is.

Something to watch out for. The gas rings on the actual bolt have little gaps in them, right? They have a tendacy to line the gaps up, over time and use. Any time you take it down for cleaning, pull the bolt out and check them. If they line up, the groups will spread out badly. IOW: you'll be all over the target :D

Sorry, I was a Marksmanship Instructor for a while. I could go on for hours like this. I shut up now. Good groups indeed.
