Hey Mike, those 238 springs on that 4R looks more like a 2" or more lift than only 3/4" to 1" lift. Got any more photos of 4Rs with the 238 spring?

No I don't. 238's on a stock weight front measure out to 20.75-21" hub to fender.

Also to note, the Exit Offroad site claims 1"-1.25" for 599's, but the Dobinsons' site claims 1.25"-1.75" for the 599. My 599's netted me 1.5", stock vehicle weight. I was hoping for closer to the 1" mark.

    YMMV.

Thanks for the reply. My measurement stock is around 19 7/8" or so hopefully it will end up at a bit under an inch.
Another question for you. If the 323 spring is stiffer than the regular rear spring besides the Pro, would this spring give a little more rear lift to a non Pro 4R?

When Dobinsons tested and measured the TRD Pro a few years back, their coils and the 323's were within mm's of the same as each other. The TRD Pro supposedly does not have any rear lift, only front lift. The rear should be approximately 22" with these installed.

@Crikeymike, any idea when the IMS59-50705 Monotube IFP Shocks will be back in stock?

Still waiting on an ETA. Until they're on the ocean to us, we don't know. Probably June/July at this point.

Hey Mike. I have a 2017 SR5. My commute is about 100 miles a week. I have ARB skids, CaliRaised sliders and Rago MSPs and shelf and big ass subwoofer in the cargo area (probably about 100-150 lbs constant load in the cargo area). Current suspension setup is Eibach shocks with fronts set at .80” lift.

I take it on trips about 6 times a year, which consist of roughly 300-600 highway miles and plenty of off roading when I get to my destination. A typical load for these trips is just regular camping gear, so figure about a couple hundred pounds in addition to the constant load. Places I go are Sand Hollow, Anza Borrego, Calico, Mojave Road. Monad is in my future. Lots of desert. My wife is not a fan of corrugated roads, neither am I. She thinks we should get a side by side. I’d rather not.

I know that I want a 2/1 lift. I already have Dirt King UCAs sitting in a box here. I would like to have ride quality over the washboards that will make my wife forget about getting a SxS. What setup would you suggest?

    Hey bud.

The IMS struts and shocks are definitely the best in the corrugations and washboards, so that would be my suggestion.

    C59-300 front coils
    IMS59-50700 front IMS struts
C59-599 rear coils - should still be right at about 1" of lift with your daily weight, then it will come down a bit with added weight for a trip.
IMS59-50701 rear IMS shocks - best with the added weight

That can be selected here: https://exitoffroad.com/product/dobinsons-ims-suspension-kit-toyota-4runner-5th-gen/

Do you happen to know the ETA on the 701s? I suppose I could go with MRAs in the rear, but I just don’t feel like dicking around with the settings

We don't have a solid ETA right now. Probably August.

    Hello CrikeyMike,
Have enjoyed and learned a lot from some of your videos.
Wanting to upgrade wifee's 4Runner and wondering if the below are in stock, not a huge rush but just checking. Wifee drives 100% on the streets, carries nothing in the car except a few pair's of shoes....women! It would be a rare occasion if it ever went off-road.
looking at 2"/1.5" lift so only .5 change from factory rake. I will be adding a spacer to the drivers front to correct lean and have JBA - UCA's to install and get the best alignment opportunities. She has a 2021 Off Road Premium.

C59-300 front coils (red) with the GS59-700 front struts (yellow).

C59-505 rear coils with GS59-705 rear shocks

Does the SC59-001 - assembled, include the top hats or do I order those separately?

    Thank you for your time.

Hey @Crikeymike, this thread has been helpful! Just wish I would have seen it before I placed my order... Now I'm starting to second guess the setup I went with.

I have a 2018 OR with 35k miles. I'm wanting to get a mild lift of +/- 1" all the way around. I'm running stock weight up front and carry a passenger, a couple of dogs and 100+/- lbs of kit in the rear probably 50%-75% of the time. I'm leaning about .50" on the driver's side currently. Here's the setup I went with:

    C59-238 front coils
    GS59-700 front struts
    C59-599 rear coils
    GS59-705 rear shocks

Do you think this will net me enough lift in the front vs rear to keep the factory rake and/or level it out a bit? Or do you think I'm potentially looking at a reverse rake situation? Also, are the comfort-valved shocks comparable to the OE shocks, or a bit more firm? At the end of the day, I'm more concerned about lift 'balance' (front/rear) than overall lift height. If that makes sense.

Also, one of my rear coils came with a decent-sized paint chip (about the size of a cashew). Do you know of a off the shelf paint color that will match the Dobinsons teal? I know you have the touch up bottles but would rather not spend the $31 (w/shipping) if I can just get something "close enough" locally.

    Thanks!

You'll want to run the c59-300 front coils with those rear coils for more of a leveled look.

Thanks for the fast reply! Alternatively, could I just use two of the PS59-4030 1/2" Strut Top Mount Spacers to get a little more lift in the front without having to get two new front coils?

Yea, I have a 1/4" spacer on the pass. And 1/2" on the driver's side to correct the lean

    Hey bud. Thanks man!!

Yeah, that's a good combination for a daily driver.

Front coils are only in stock in teal or black. Rear coils are in stock in teal or red. The other parts are in stock.

When you select the struts and labor assembly bundle, then you're getting them assembled with new strut mounts. You'll see it in the drop down list on this page:

You'll need to raise the front more, or not lift the rear. Running the C59-323 stock height rear coils would give you added strength over stock, but not lift it. You can add spacers to the front to add more lift. With the parts you ordered, you won't run into reverse rake.

That color isn't used in automotive shops. It's just like the Miami Dolphins teal color, but you'd have to have it made. You could probably find some nail polish that would be very close. Get acrylic

You can't really compare these shocks to stock, as they're a different type of shock. I've never had anyone complain about the ride comfort with the GS59-705 shocks, unless they're heavily loaded.

Install complete and the ride is fantastic, we could not be happier.
The springs/shocks and buying experience was just great.

Hope to get around 4.5 Caster, will get it aligned next week.
We just took it for a drive, the ride is so much better with the new springs and shocks. Does not feel NERVIOUS on the road now and wifee is very happy, its her daily driver.
