In your glove box there is a book called "Maintenance and Warranty Guide". It outlines when to get all of your preventative maintenance.

Your first oil change is to be done at 5,000 miles.

the 5K miles is the max on the first oil change but should also be done every 12 months if its not with a lot of use. the other items to do is grease the drive shafts/yoke. also check for any leaks of any kind and make sure the steering grease boots are not broken. rotate tires @5K miles is another good idea and check that the wheels are properly wearing if not get alignment from dealership for free..

replacing the rear differential fluid is also something to consider since many have had this gear oil get over heated during the first 2K miles of break in. the oil should be brown NOT black..

    good luck with it.

Installed Rago brackets and 4" cube ditch lights. Weather tech mats. Cargo net. Cargo mat. Ordered Gobi rack with ladder.
On a brand new engine, I like to change the oil at 2,500 miles. Then again at 5,000 miles and every 5,000 miles from then on.

Mine is a 2016 SR5. Changed mine at 4 then 4 again then 5. I had an analysis done on the 5k change and they told me it was good enough to go to 7, but I'll probably send a sample in at 6.

looking at the oil change I just did 3K miles looks like 7K is the correct amount. I did do it with the 3K miles on the vehicle because very soon I will be on a 4K mile trip. lubed and checked it all out also changed the rear diff gear oil. got torque wrench out and did some bolt checking on the under body . some nuts where a little loose. drive shafts good . it takes a full 45 min for all the engine oil to drain out.. best to do this yourself since the oil change shops will not wait that long.

my other truck I do the oil/filter at 7500 miles has 170K on it. engine is excellent shape. never have to add oil.

Definitely going to get a Fumitomo drain valve like I had on my taco. Loved it, make changes super easy.
