Guys...am trying to determine the best way to remove the front emblem on a 2016 Trail. I popped the radiator plastic cover off but the backside of the emblem was not what I was expecting. I can only see the two plastic side emblem "stingers" that insert through (at least that is what I am thinking they are). Pushing the two "stingers" both to the inside or outside doesn't release the front emblem. I cannot see if there is a top and bottom "stinger" due to some brackets being in the way. Anyone go through this procedure that could offer some words of wisdom? Thanks!

I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh
If it's like the one on the Tacoma there were 4 tabs top, bottom and the two sides. I can't be sure but I think you might have to pull the grill to do it. I need to do it to change my emblem but it might be a couple of weeks before I have a chance to do it. If you figure it out before then please post up what you had to do

Actually any of the guys on here that changed the front to the pro grill should be able to answer this.

    Hey roger,
You will need to purchase a new upper grill. And a garnish. So there isn't a gap in the plastic bar running across the middle. The garnish can be expensive if you go the TRD route like i did or maybe if you do some digging or are handy can make one? Total about 500$ to purchase and am hour of your time to install.IMG_2879.jpg

Omar...that is sweet! I was actually trying to easily install a front devil horn emblem......what appeared to be an easy job doesn't appear so.

Hi, hope this helps a bit. I did not have issues pushing mine out, however, I did noticed it felt a bit stuck.

Mike...love the look of the front. My complication with the devil horns install is actually being able to get to the back of where the devil horn screws go through the grill area. Seems this area has many plastic support brackets in the way...thus can only barely see two tabs from the factory emblem sticking through the grill. I believe I can get the factory emblem off from the front but not sure at this time, if the devil horns can be attached due to not having enough clearance on the backside.

Theres no problem, just take the additional plastic pieces off the back to access the badge and install the screws, then reattach the back panel again. I think it was like 3 extra screws or something and done. Dont fight it, just take it off for easy access

Mike, I like what you did. The Matte Black cross bar and badge look great. I have a mag gray trail premium coming and I hate the light silver valence on the front bumper. Looked at the cost of replacing to the TRD Pro Grill and the black oem valence to match and it's in the $800 to $1000 for both. I found I high end custom shop that will dip emblem, cross bar and valence matte black for not even half of that. Yours looks great against the white.

Hey ckenyon, have you tried to look into vinyl adhesive flat black wrapping for those areas that are silver on your trail 4runner?, that's what i did on my front cross bar. Supper cheap.
