Missoula isn't too bad. I hardly get over that way anymore unless its to see the tamaracks in the fall or to go over the Magruder corridor - a must see for all 4Runners.

In my Taco, yes. When I took Runner up their over labor day I was rushing to stay ahead of the snow plus I had already ruined one tire, busted sidewall, so I didn't want to get too adventurous

    Ooooohhhh! I like.

So answer me this, as this might help me get an idea of how challenging a certain section of road is.

I thought the road up to the lookout was about the sketchiest section of road I've ever driven. I was in serious pucker factor going up.

How's it rate in the overall scheme of toughness in your opinion?

I've been on worse! But that is a little scary getting up there. My biggest worry was the steepness and the possibility of going so slow my truck would start spinning out (no lockers). Had that happen on less steep trails. Went up there with the TW group in the picture, once by myself after that and when I was coming back down I met up with a couple in an old Ford van....they were nuts!
I think the pucker factor doubles up there just because of the remoteness and lack of traffic.

Currently and temporarily in Bozeman. Just picked up a project 4runner, it won't see the road or trail for sometime. But I take my Tacoma everywhere! IMG_20170826_112138421_HDR (Large) (Small).jpg IMG_19241.jpg IMG_20170114_160505393_HDR (Small).jpg IMG_20170515_142416979 (Small).jpg

Nice 4runner. That color looks so good in the sun especially with those wheels. You mind giving your lift/tire/wheel specs?

Arrived in Missoula today from Raleigh, NC. Here for a month to decide if I want to move here. Here's my ORP in the Smoky Mountains about a week after I bought it.

Ok, 4Runner owner in Stevensville, MT. Bought a ranch for retirement there in 2018, beating the Yellowstone/COVID run up in prices. We also own homes in Fullerton and Big Bear Lake, California. Wife is retired and I’ve been lucky enough to work remote 90% of the time since COVID, but that is ending shortly. Love to fly fish and there is tons of it here.

Any of you passing through or looking around the Bitterroot Valley south of Missoula are welcome to stop by or happy to meet up and share some insight.
