Black out logos

Does anyone know where I can get a black out package for the chrome logos on my 2016 SR5 4x4? I've looked on Amazon but could only find similar packages for the 2015 model. I'm worried those won't fit mine.

 

You can just do it yourself with some plasti-dip. Super easy. See the link below, not for a 4Runner but it works just the same...

Thanks man! that looks like it would turn out great. Might even do the bars on my roof as well. much cheaper, plus its a DIY mod. i know how ill be spending my saturday...

 

I used plasti dip on my logos. This stuff works awesome like unreal. Take your time and apply multiple coats. Like 6-8 coats. It's weird spraying that directly on your truck but trust me it comes off flawlessly. If you have any questions just PM me. I just did it a month ago.

Did this work on the round logo on your grille? Seems like that might be a little tricky

Did you get a smooth finish ? I just did my emblems and they came out with a textured finish.

 

That's a function of the temperature of the spray cans. If they're cold, you will get a textured finish. Let em sit in a bucket of hot water if you want a smoother finish

 

That what I was thinking... guess I shouldn't have sprayed it on a cold and rainy day (in the garage of course ). Thanks for the tip !

 

I used 7 coats of plasti-dip on my rear emblem. I would suggest this over purchasing overlays. Plasti-dip holds very well against bad weather etc and is cheaper lol.

 

Sorry for the late reply. I noticed when I did my first emblem it was textured. I read that when applying the coats make sure your coats are light. My first coat and so on went on to thick. So I redid it with very light coats and I got a nice smooth finish.

 

Why wouldn't they fit? 2015 and 16 are 5th gen,the emblem/logo swaps should be identical.

 

Thanks for the reply. what I found was the texture finish came from cold temperatures. I put on thin coats but it was barely 60 degrees and was spraying kinda "chunky". lesson learned
