So I recently upgraded to an '07 Limited 4x4 with an ARB bumper, and I already want to swap out the lights.

Seeing as I have projectors in the headlights, the only real question is HID or LED? Which is brighter? Which lasts longer? Which is hotter (HID, right?)? Answers to other questions I should have asked? Is XenonDepot still regarded as good? What are some other good sources?

I also want to swap out the fogs in the ARB for yellow bulbs and a film on the lens. I had some yellow halogen bulbs in my '04 from Amazon that had mixed reviews, but I had good luck with them other than the plastic housing breaking on install and some fitment issues, but brute force got them in (and broke the housing). I just honestly have NO idea whatsoever how to change either the fog bulbs or the indicator bulbs in the ARB bumper. Previous owner problems, am I right? Back to the point, though I don't know what type of bulb I want/should want, what size of bulb I need, or how to replace it in this bumper.

ive heard really good things about products from the retrofit source. not much experience with led bulbs for headlights but people that have them in projectors seem to have good luck, i guess they don't emit as much light in reflector housings

HID all the way. I have upgraded to projector hid (xenon) lights and they are the brightest. Now the color (temperature) you choose determines your light output.

For example, I have 6000k crystal white in xenon which gives me a good bright light pattern but it's not the brightest, I just prefer that temperature because of the crystal white color.

Every temperature is assigned to its own color (think rainbow spectrum) I also have a set of 12000k which is the highest temperature of xenon which is a very vivid violet purple light output, so it's the brightest. Hence why it's ROY G BIV violet being last.

The temp you want all determines your preference of color really, that's all you should be basing it off off. 8000k is a more blue output, brighter than my 6000k but I don't want blue. You can also get 4000k if you want yellow color, which to me would be a bit pointless considering its not as bright and you're going xenon so why not get a high temperature you're satisfied with.

Hope this cleared some things up. And I also have an ARB bumper with fogs that I'm going to swap out. Either call ARB directly and ask your questions there, or just purchase 4" fogs to your liking and swap them. Not sure about the bulb type. That's something you'll have to bring into an auto store. Disassembly is easy, just a couple screws and some Springs.

Very helpful @4thgenBlake, I'm thinking 5500k in the Heads which is (supposed to be) the closest to "White," without any bluish hue to it. Then 3000k or 3500k in Fogs WITH those Lamin-X films I ordered.

So you want a true yellow fog huh. I'm going to swap mine out with Piaas or some sort of fog light I find that I like. I'm considering inserting a halo ring just to be fancy, and having the bulbs match my headlights. It should be fun

I found in the short time I had the yellow fog bulbs in the 2wd, before I blew it up (A moment of silence, RIP), that they really do help in terms of reflection in the few times it saw fog/rain. I'm kind of upset the 07 took away my fog projectors with or without the steel bumper, but I think yellow film will allow me to run a brighter bulb behind the film.
