Same here! USAA 2007-2012. Good times. If you do your job right, then 90% of people you deal with will be angry with you.

I feel like that's a California thing more then just a Sac thing. I never saw such goatfuckery behind the wheel as I did in California!!

Dude insurance sucked so much, it forced me back to tech. Now life (And my mental health) is good!!

The hardest part was doing FNOL claims when children were fatalities. You never forget that stuff. Heartbreaking.

I was on a non-injury team, so thankfully didn't have to deal with that.

I'm surprised the OP isn't at least sore.

I keep falling asleep on my couch while watching TV at night and wake up in pain. I like to joke that a 50yr old falling asleep on the couch is the same as a 25yr old getting in a bad car wreck; both are going to be hurting the next day.

I mean, if we're being honest: my balls hurt. I'm not sure if that's a physical manifestation of me metaphorically losing a part of me, or what. But other than that, I feel good. I did brake some.

You might be right. I’ll say honestly, looking at your first pic, it felt exactly like watching a brother get kicked in the nuts.

I lived near Seattle for a bit. Couldn’t believe the number of accidents when the sun came out from behind the clouds!! So many people slowing down to look at the bright light in the sky!

I thinks it’s the satire of frustration.

California law requires all drivers to have a minimum coverage vehicle liability insurance. However, California has more uninsured drivers than any other state. Being the most populated state probably contributes to this.

Uninsured drivers generally have fewer assets and less income than drivers with insurance. This means that someone injured by an uninsured or underinsured driver may be unable to collect damages from the other driver for medical costs, lost wages, car repair bills, pain and suffering and other losses after a car accident in California. And they often drive away, or run away, from the accident scene.

So the responsible California drivers pay big auto insurance bills, with big coverage for all the expensive cars on the road, and usually big deductibles to make it more affordable.

LOL, I meant to not hit "post reply" on that message, because I'm trying to play nice.

Thanks for the information, and yes, you're correct. My first 4runner (1994 SR5) got totaled when an uninsured drunk driver, in the country illegally, came on the wrong side of the road and hit us head-on. My wife was driving, 8 months pregnant. I think my smitty built front bumper saved us. It definitely costs more to live here, but still worth it.

Ow. Did your bumper stay intact and transfer all of the crumple to the other car?

It was a tube bumper. It bent in about 30 degrees at the tip/corner, but the rest of the front end looked pretty good. Apparently it was enough to also bend the frame though. I don't really like insurance companies.

Never really saw the other car because he ran, although he only made it about a half mile.

It must be frustrating to be from a state in which everyone assumes you are a leftist moron, vapid, shallow, and smug based solely on the licence plate of your vehicle.

There have been many road rage incidents up here against vehicles with California plates. Everybody hates Californians.

My brother is a Detective and loathes them. He jokes that the easiest way to spot a Californian is that they are dressed like someone 20 years younger than them, and have a smug and entitled look on their face.

My last girlfriend was from California and she was great; did not fit the stereotype at all, nor did the rest of her family. All great people. I know a few Californians that immigrated here to be free and they are fine people.

this caused my heart to cry for those people. That is the saddest thing. Poor sunless people…

Oddly enough, I’ve only visited the Seattle area once. I stayed a week, and it was severe clear the entire time. Not a single cloud in the sky lol.

Maybe you should move to Idaho or Mississippi then? You might be much happier, surrounded by your kind of people. Or even Nevada! No state income tax FTW!
