So just got the confirmation from UPS, my sliders will be delivered tomorrow. So I’ve read that there is some minor trimming to do on the OEM KDSS Skid plate to make the Sliders fit. So, does anyone have a picture / diagram of where or what needs to be trimmed?

My skid plate was thrown around by UPS and although RSG packages very well the plate was roughed up to bare metal. I contacted RSG and they offered to replace it or suggested this paint- https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-7...2345&sprefix=rustoleum+texture,aps,216&sr=8-1

You may want to pick up a can to apply after you cut your KDSS skid plate. I used it after I trimmed mine.

Thank you those pictures help a lot. So how hard was the driver side to go on with the KDSS & Brake lines?

I loosened the bolts for those brackets on the DS frame rail, and my buddy and I were able to slide/wedge the mounting plate between the lines and the frame pretty easily. I wouldn't want to try it alone, but it's totally doable if you have something to support the slider.

It's been a while, but IIRC, we got one bolt started in a threaded hole in the frame on one side, then swung the other side upwards while sliding the mounting plate behind those lines, then got another bolt started on the other end.

It's not bad. I believe the directions had us remove the bolts for the clips holding the lines along the driver's side frame rail. Then, you just sneak the slider in there and bolt it up.

It's way easier with an extra set of hands, if you have anyone around who can help. I definitely recommend doing the driver's side first, because the passenger side is super easy.

I got my son that’s gonna help me on Saturday although he doesn’t know yet LOL. So did you guys use a thread cleaner / chaser before you installed?

Mine was about 3 or 4 months old when I installed the sliders...I think I took one of the bolts supplied and threaded it by hand into all of the holes needed for mounting. None of them gave me any reason to think a thread chaser was necessary. YMMV, and a thread chaser, if you have the right size, is never a bad idea.

I did the same thing, but my daughter was super excited to help me out. I had her tighten all the bolts and I quality checked them :) (There are a ton of them)

I have a set similar to that. I plan on applying a very light coat of non-oxide grease before I install. Cool that your Daughter got out there to help.

I read that RSG stated that they don't pull the plastic plugs...
My RSG sliders just came in and I plan to install this Sunday.

Just spoke with Jason @ RSG and he said they don't pull the plugs when they install at their shop.

Interesting, must smash them flush when torquing down the bolts.

I took the plastic plugs that were behind the mounting plate out. I saw no reason to leave them behind that plate. Not all the plastic plugs in the frame are in the way, so those stayed.

Definitely needed my friends help installing my RCI sliders due to the KDSS line. It is much easier with two people as my sliders were a lot to handle.

Some observations:
    1) Driver side is harder to install than passenger side mostly due to the KDSS. I honestly didn’t think I was going to be able to slide the plate behind the KDSS lines as they were super tight close to the frame, but I used some non-oxide grease prior to install and once I got it wedged in they just kind of slid in place.
    2) Have a small angle grinder with a cutting wheel (which I had ) to make the cut on the KDSS line skid plate. I question why RSG can’t just move the square tubing about 1/2” foward to eliminate the need to have to cut the Skid Plate, just my opinion on that.
    3) Passenger side is easy peasy but be careful with hole alignment when installing the bolt for the brake lines. They can easily go in misaligned if not careful. Some of the higher bolts can only be tightened with a box or opened end wrench, too far in to use a socket wrench. I was able to Torque almost all but 2 bolts to recommended specifications.
Overall I like them, they feel and look pretty stout. Definitely use a second person to help with the install, it’ll save time.
Some pics to show some of the install.

Thanks for your post, and including the great photos. The sliders look great!

Did you leave the plastic plugs in the frame or remove them?

The Driver side was a very tight fit between the KDSS lines, I don’t know if they would have fit with the plastic plugs in place. I mean it was that tight. So I took them off. I know some people said they might prevent intrusion but if you look at the frame stock, it has holes everywhere, the sliders actually cover a lot of them up.

I should have mentioned that I sprayed a thin layer of fluid film on the frame before mounting the slider. Just to create an extra layer of protection.

Installed today. Three hours. Left plugs in as per Jason at RSG's instructions. Used motorcycle lift and webbing to gently pull the KDSS lines out a bit to facilitate install. Easy peasey.
    Yeah, it needs a bath.
    ☠️
Waiting for Dobinson's lift to come in and will then upgrade tires and powder coat stock wheels.
