I have a 2018 TRD Pro and I am looking to get some rock sliders before doing some offroading this summer. Anyone have a set of rock sliders they really like that they can recommend?

Here are some general guidelines on what I am looking for.
    • I want to go with black to match the blackout elements (badging, etc).
    • I am pretty sure I do not want top plates
    • I want them to be pretty minimalist, meaning not sticking out more than is truly necessary (maybe goes without saying, but no steps)
    • To that last point, I think I want angled sliders as those seem to be the most low-profile
    • Bonus points if they can take a beating and still be functional

    Thank you

Honestly, just look through google images for what you like. Hardly any sliders out there that are crappy. Shrockworks makes a pretty minimalist style. I have tandem automotive and they’re pretty sleek

Most recognized name brands will meet your guidelines. Ive been doing a ton of research and here are some general recommendations followed by some brands to check out.
    1) Be sure the company offers powder coating (most do but it costs extra)
    2) If you want to reduce "sticking out" consider brands that offer no kick out
    3) 20 degrees will be the most low profile but several brands offer 5 and 0 with no kick out
    4) If you plan to abuse them consider going with DOM over HREW

Best brands on the Market include RCI, RSG, Westcott Designs. Im 90% on Westcotts with no Kickout. Good luck and hope this helps.

Yeah, this is definitely helpful. You put it all in one place for me to refer to so much appreciated! I do like the sound of the Westcotts but will look at the other ones you recommended as well. Thanks again.

I'm going with RCI. I'm getting the step version for my kids' sake, but their 20° stepless version looks really nice.

Depending on where you live, consider the shipping cost. These are not cheap to ship. I chose RSG for the quality, and relatively inexpensive shipping, being 1 state over. Just a thought.

This is all good info, thank you. Does anyone know if any of these places have promo codes? My guess is they do not with the wait times, but it never hurts to ask, right?

I like my All Pro sliders but they are the expo series so they have a kickout and act as a step.

Have you thought about the Toyota rock sliders? They seem to fit most of your criteria.

Installed RSG sliders today on a 2022 TRD off road. Super easy install and fitment was great. Highly recommend. I'm sure RCI are also a good option.

I went with RSG as well. Fitment was good, and they do their job.

They offer a version without top plates, kickout or no kickout, angled or straight.

I actually would go without top plates if I ordered another set.

RCI has one floating around here somewhere for 10% off. Some other brands do too, but that's the one I was looking for.

you can poke around on here or the other forum for codes. a lot of companies will do holiday weekend deals and some will give you a % off for signing up for their email list and stuff like that. check out their instagram pages as well. i feel that most places are relatively active on socials and post codes there.

I'll second the RSG - put mine on this last weekend. I went with the 0 angle so my wife has a step up. Love the look.
I was able to pick mine up directly since they are in De20220111_114745.jpg 20220109_114906.jpg nver. I used a code NOVEMBER100 on the website to knock $100 off.

Shrockworks are a pain in the ass to put on with those stick nuts. I just didn't like how far they stuck out. The Toyota rock rails are pretty beefy and are much tighter to the body with no step.

I have done some research on the parts and accessories section of two local dealerships but I am not seeing anything related to rock sliders. Is there another site where I can see what they have to offer? I am totally willing to do official parts, I am just having trouble locating them.

They are seriously heavy and strong:benchpress: - side benefit is that they stick out just enough (plus our 4Runners are raised) that we get protected from some of the parking lot door dings
They also really finish the "Look" for our rigs.;)

Pretty sure RSG (https://rsgmetalworks.com/collections/5th-gen-4runner) meets his all of his criteria. My comments showed mine and recommended RSG as a good product (showed what they look like after unboxing and installed). They also provide no bump outs, no top plates, angled or not angled. From all accounts, they can take a beating and still be functional.

They're called Toyota Rock Rails, if that assists your search.

I was able to get a set of these for around $400 just this past September, so I imagine they’re still available.

I too have RSG and since I'm in CO I pick up local.

I went RSG flat + top plate + kick out mainly because of the kiddo. I also picked the HREW one for my use. It saves little bit of weight and stock enough to use my hi-lift jack. If one need strongest ones can go with RSG DOM ones. Its good that RSG has both HREW and DOM options so we can pick depending on the need. Its also crazy how many options each of them have.

    upload_2022-1-12_11-41-48.jpg

If you are looking at OEM rock rails just double check if they can provide real protection or help as a step. They look pretty small based on the pics. Haven't seen them in real life.

I'm opposite of the OP. I'm looking for sliders that can double as a step when putting things up on the roof rack. RSGs look great for that dual functionality. Do you find them useful as a step while loading the roof rack?

Not my 4runner but yes they worked great as a step. Used them to help install the roof rack.

I use my RSG (0°, no kickout, grip top plate, powder coated) sliders to access the roof whenever I need to. You can't quite reach the middle of the roof, at least not if you're 5'7" like me, but that's what the tires are for!
