I plan to add a 1080p camera thru one of the wheel holes. Need to make a custom bracket.

I just not a fan on how far out they stick out. We don't plan on adding anything but a tire so it will look waaaaay out. That's why I like the DOM. But 26 weeks lol. Crazzzy

AFAIK .. dom is one of the only carriers which has an adjustable depth. from what I heard, order time was much better before. But now with covid, these small one man companies are struggling.

I ordered knowing it would be a long wait.. but it was worth it.

agreed. Most carriers stick out too far. I don’t plan to add anything between my spare and hatch. But having the adjustability is one of my main criteria.

Aso, DOM has an angle which countours the hatch.

Sure, but I also ask people who have ordered and received the product too. I then look at geographical location, current UPS and other carrier stats, and the weather. I have a Warn winch stuck somewhere in Utah right now because of weather back-ups across country.:)

then I’m the winner at almost 8mo :). I believe my delay was mainly because of covid. Dom posted on FB that he contracted covid. so I believe that added two months delay. Also some supply chain delay. But from time to time, Dom reached out to me on messenger with updates.

I ordered in Nov 2020 and received in May 2021. But of course that was also within Covid window. Frankly, I'd say the biggest drawback I have with dealing with DOM is that Facebook is his only access point. I had to use my daughter account because I refuse to have an account with those criminals (who are tracking my every move regardless...). Product itself is fine, but the modification I requested (1-2" lower) was not honored, but was so happy get something I didn't complain).

My bro ordered his in July 6th 2020 for his 2021 trd pro he had not even bought yet at the time. He’s still waiting to this day for his bumper. Almost 2 years later. Lots of excuses and bull shit this guy mark.
Lc24r, I’m not sure how you ordered yours after him and got it in 6 months. We’re about to go ape shit on him.

Ordered mine 8 months ago and still nothing. The guy won't even respond to me. He has terrible customer service. He literally just posted on Facebook 22hrs ago but can't respond to messages. What can I do? Kind of just want my money back, this is absolutely ridiculous.

If you can’t wait 6-8 mo then don’t order from DOM

Must be a smaller shop. I like the clearance and simplicity of the design but here's the thing. Tire Carrier vs. just going full bumper with swing-outs. For some the prices are kinda close.

yea DOM is a one man shop. I spoke to the owner before ordering and had an idea of the lead times. I choose it because of the adjustable depth and simplicity of the design. I didn’t want all the bling which Rigd offered. Also dom has great prices.

I really like the idea of a tire carrier that I can remove vs a full on bumper install. If 4Runner is totaled, I take it off while screaming "Mine!" at the insurance company. Less weight, simple ect. The cost between the two is close on some manufacturers. Probably around Dec/Jan timeframe I'll make a decision.

For anyone located in or near NJ - I have a DOM Knucklebone with the optional hitch that I’m looking to part ways with. About a year old and has a bed liner finish on it (finish is chipping in a couple spots but can be easily touched up) Asking $425.

Amazing tire carrier and really does sit close to the hatch with no issues. Only selling because I’m going a different direction with the 4runner and won’t be able to utilize the tire carrier as I hoped this year due to a lot of recent life changes and upcoming travels.

Please message me directly on the forums or you can text me at 2018735580 if you’re interested.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but there is no way I'd give anyone my business if they are either too busy, or too cool, to respond to me. I'd rather go *without* than giving my money to some dude who has no business sense and is willing to lie or bury his head in the sand to muddy the waters.

If I order one of these, it wont be with this guy. 6 -8 months?? Are you kidding me?

    Go with RidD.

Is this guy related to the Gobi rack guy, or what...? It's amazing anyone orders from either place.

Yeah I ordered mine 7/21 and at first I got fairly quick responses and recently nothing at all. He told me it was just needing assembly 3 weeks ago. Now he doesn’t even read my messages since I asked for a update. One man shop or not if it takes 9months to a year to build a swing out he probably should not take on new business.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I think after the 6 month point, he just stops communicating completely. I can understand delays and supply chain issues. I can also understand getting sick and having family issues. Straight up ignoring messages and he allows no comments on his postings on facebook should remind people to beware. Until I see my product, I can't recommend this DOM for their products. I'd take a refund at this point but he doesn't offer that.

Agreed that the way he is running things is complete bs. As far as the product I've had it for over a year and no complains. Takes all the abuse I can throw at it and it's still as solid as day one.

Did you ever get a response or receive your carrier? I'm quickly approaching 6 months (was told 12-week lead time) and plan on cancelling before my buyer protection runs out at the end of the month. Last I heard from him was around the 15-week mark when he said a saw was down and he lost two weeks of production. No response in over a month.

Well that's disappointing. I warned him last week that I would cancel the order by end of month if I don't get a shipment notification. Thank you very much for posting - I think it was you on the other 4runner forum where you mentioned only having 6 months to cancel through PayPal. I checked and I only have a few weeks left to do it. I was really looking forward to that carrier... I don't like the other hitch mounted options because they stick out so far and not sure I can justify the money for a full bumper with swingouts.
