Hi! Am new to the forum. And a new 4 Runner rust candidate. How does one get started on filing a claim for the rust? I bought this 2005 4Runner in June this year. Was highly disappointed it was all rust underneath! I failed to look underneath the vehicle when I bought it. Not only was it rusted underneath, there was no spare tire as the spare tire hanger was rusted out! I am currently searching for a spare tire hanger. I had to buy a rim and used one of the old tires to put on that as I purchased 4 new tires. When I get all the costs together I am going to send the car dealer a bill. So if anyone can help with info about the rust claim I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

Not sure you have any sort of claim on an 11 year old, used vehicle.

Did you buy it from a dealer or private seller?

A few things here and there. Still dreaming up stuff
From what I have seen hitting the market the 4Runner is not going to be covered at this time for any repairs needed on frames. The Tacoma, Sequoia, and I think the Tundra were only thing that I have saw at this point. More information would help out some. Alot of guys have just fixed the issue them self's.

Also, I know this topic has been beat to death but it really boils down to how they were cared for and what part of the country they were in. My rig is 18 years old and there is no rust in it at all.
