What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Cleaned and applied wool wax to the frame and underparts.

 

Clay bar today, hmm Maby painted skid plates to close to 4Runner? Lol

 

Installed the AJT push start button which looks better in my opinion than stock.

 

What's your plan for mounting the radio itself?

 

Main unit under passenger seat with face on the dash in the little recessed spot in front of the extra clock
I think it’s going to be low profile enough that it won’t look obnoxious
I’m going to drill into the vertical console and run the control wire (w a grommet)down behind the console and under the shifter console and under the carpet to the main unit

Luck to you. Under seat would have me thinking about heat, probably is ok with positive air flow. I've been leaning toward the Rago type panels on sides of console but I'm not convinced yet. Winter here so I have a lot of things on hold.

 

It seems like a VERY common location [under seat] and the unit has a fan so I expect it to be fine

 

Thank you for posting this, I’ve never seen the Quick Fist before. I’d been planning a semi-permanent mount for a solar panel using U-bolts, which would require drilling additional holes in the panel’s aluminum frame. I just ordered some Quick Fists instead as a result of your post. Will see how well they work with the Yakima Megawarrior rack.

 

Dropped him off for his first service and to have the chrome edge running boards traded out for the trail ones.

Malls are getting crazy this time of year. Got my crossbar, mounts and Maxtrax mounted up on the rear of my GFC. It also acts as a "spoiler" when I'm on the race track! Gotta be prepared!

 

The open coil on the Comet antenna is a branch catcher! Consider covering it with some heat shrink tubing.

 

Should do the trim ring cover too.

I've read from another user that the tacoma and 4runner trim ring is the same.

 

Charges the jackery good 93 watt out of a 100 watt panel in winter. Panel mounted on roof with quick fist minis now I can easily pull it off and park in shade

 

That link is to Tacoma parts. I navigated to the 4Runner parts and they don't carry the trim rings for 4Runners.

 

You will want the minis. Idk what size ur bars are but 1 1/8” gobi bars were way to small for the regular quick fists

 

It doesnt specify for 4runners but Ive seen/read posts from a few users that tried it and works on their runner. Ill be ordering it with the push button from meso customs soon but waiting to see if they got any coupon codes to offset the shipping fee.

I emailed meso and they said it will fit the 4Runner

 

Picked up my 2022 TRD OFF road, so far in love especially after my first winter storm ride.

Only changes have been the rubber and Toyota rock rail which im really not impressed with, I find they dont stick out enough unless theres a extention.

Most likely going to change rims, fogs, skid come spring. Wish I would have done some more homework and saw greenlaneoffroad before making the rock rails purchase with Toyota lol

 

2022 Trail SE

Wife didn’t like the wind noise on the Yakima basket so I took it off. I have some OEM Trail running boards on order. Other than that it will probably be stock for awhile.

 

This much closer to de-chroming all emblems. Push to start trim ring is next. Also got Energy Suspension bump stops in the front. Was about to pull the trigger on Wheelers or Durabumps but couldnt justify the $$$ on pieces of rubber, especially with Timbrens ridiculous cost. $38 for these was worth atleast trying them and straight off riding on local and freeway roads felt the difference of how much cushion this gives when hitting bumps or any irregularities on the road along with the stiffness of the suspension and tire.
