I wanted a 2022 Limited with Sand Beige interior but the sliding cargo deck is not available. This is bizarre to say the least. Does anyone know why?

Yea, I had to change my zip code in order to select the package I want. Thanks.

I was just told by a salesperson the other day that yota is phasing out the slide out so I can’t get it on the off road premium

That sucks, I’m a huge fan of the slide out cargo tray, have it on my current 4Runner. I guess I am lucky my 22 Pro was built with it, should be here in a week or two. I wonder when the cut off was.

I hope you get it. On the phone the salesperson said toyota has had to pay out some money to claims for accidents involved with the slide out tray. Not sure how much truth to that.

I dont have the slide out tray but wonder ..Is it a mechanical nightmare?
Maybe Toyota does not want to deal breaking jamming, and service repairs?

I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it has anything to do with being a mechanical nightmare or from injuries. It has been around for many years on the 4Runner, so if mechanical issues were a big problem they would of stopped offering it long ago. Injuries are possible, but again unlikely. More than likely it’s either a supply chain issue, or they don’t want to order more since they are supposed to be switching to the 6th gen for 23 and are just gonna phase it out and when it’s gone it’s gone. But I could be way off.

No, I think you are dead on, makes the most common sense, but what good is common since any more, so ya I agree you are way off.
