I just placed my order for a new 22 4Runner TRD Off-Road in Lunar Rock, ready in about 7 months or so from my local Toyota dealer. Question though, on Toyota’s website it clearly states this model comes with Mud and Snow tires from factory. I have a hard time believing that as I’ve seen no stock TRD Off-Roads with anything other than all seasons, anyone have info on this?

You can drive it in the mud and snow, but the factory tires on a off-road stinks! My 2 cents

That’s what I’m reading, but do you know which specific tires they come with?

Mine came with all-season Dunlops. It was fine on the freeway, but had a slight shimmy on the freeway. It really didn’t do well off-road, so I opted to replace them with BFG All-Terrains.

Those are ones I’m looking at actually however for the price I’m also looking at the General Grabber AT too.

The OR/ORPs usually come with Bridgestone Duelers, which are also pretty much all seasons. As for me I will be arranging a trade with my local discount tires to see if I can use it towards a set of open countrys or wildpeaks.

Mine came with the Dunlops. Replaced them today at 127 miles. Discount Tire gave me 50 a piece for the Dunlops.

Mine came with the AW Dunlops. I wouldn't be surprised they supply them with AW's rather than AT for the increased gas mileage. Since I went to Goodyear Wrangler AT's, I've noticed a drop in MPG.

My '22 TRD ORP also has the Bridgestone Duelers from factory. They are far from what I would call quality off road tires. My guess is they are OEM only because they get better fuel mileage and are far quieter than true knobby off road tires like Ridge Grapplers or BFG KO2s as you see on the Pro models. For my driving I'm good with that and will worry about it after they wear out.

Dunflops came on both of our ORP's. Sold them almost right away and put that money toward some Cooper's.

The beginning… Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 275/70R17, 2”Bilstein 6112/5160, OME 2895 medium spring, SPC UCAs, rock rails, TRD exhaust, TRD black wheels, TRD skid plate, LFD Offroad Stainless crossbars w/integrated faring. Fam Mods: Kurgo rear seat cover, Pawple waterproof cargo cover, Pawple pet barrier, Ninja slack line knot rope pull system (for back seat, how else are kiddos going to climb up?).
Dunlops we’re terrible and off the truck at 131mi. You should be able to get something for the Dunlops at the shop or Craigslist or somewhere, so won’t be a total loss. Went with Falken Wildpeak at3.

KO2s are pretty much as quiet as stock dunlops. Cushier too.

I’m really leaning towards KO2s. Just can’t decide on C or E load. I don’t crawl, so would prefer to prioritize road noise, ride comfort and winter weather traction.

Regarding my comment on noise, my KO2s are C load. I have a fair amount of off road miles on forest roads/trails, and they have been fine. Unless you rock crawl a lot, E load is probably not worth the trade off

The roads in my area are terrible. It’s basically off-road 1/3 of the time anyway. Lol.

Can't speak for the OEM Dunlops. Trying to compare them to the OEM Bridgestone Duelers that I got. Are they more like the 3 season street tires like my Duelers are. If so the KO2s sound like they would be an excellent replacement choice and more fitting to my ORP than the stock tires. I find the Ridge Grapplers just a little too aggressive. One of the reasons I bought the ORP over the Sport was the cushier '17 sidewalls over the '20. Looking at AW tires instead of AT tires. Just don't want the constant knobby tire drone when most of my driving is on pavement. Sounds like a good compromise.

I will be arranging a trade with my local Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin to see if I can use it towards a set of open countrys or wildpeaks.
