Or, get a bumper with a cutout for a light bar. :D

@kmeeg used a dremel saw. Was super easy to cut the grille mesh. I am about to install 2 LP4's to put next to the LP6 lights and will cut the rest of the bottom mesh grille to get the best light output. I actually like the mesh grille cut out IMO. Shows off the Baja Designs lights a little bit better.

So, I was looking online and came across the dealer ads for the new Morimoto 4Banger light pods and they “seem” like they could be the perfect driving light for what I’m trying to do. They are a 3-LED pod and they are quite a bit smaller than the typical 3” x3” LED pods that are out there now.

The only issue I have now is that no one is actually publishing output data, EXCEPT to say that they are about 20% brighter than the DD SS3 Max fogs! But that claim is for the wide pattern. They don’t say a whole lot about their driving light output, so…

I have a pair of Diode Dynamics SS3 Max fogs in my T4R. (I moved up from the SS3 Pro's.) I seriously doubt that the Morimotos are going to have greater actual output than the DD Max. What they are quoting is a theoretical output number. The real world can be a much tougher place.

BTW, the DD Max and the Morimoto use the same emitters, but the DD has 4 and the Morimoto has only 3. Couple that with the smaller heat sinks on the Motimotos and I think you can figure things out for yourselves.

On another forum someone was taking about the 2022 4Runner with the TSS moved to the bottom of the grill… I wonder if that grill could be retrofitted into my 2021 TRD Pro. Would that leave the entire upper area for a full length, 30” bar?

Bajadesigns 20 inch light bar and on board push button switch. Wired it to the battery to turn on. Also SDHQ off-road where I bought my mounts for the light bar.

The S8 seems to be a really popular option.

I installed a 20” S8 behind upper grill in my ‘21 so didn’t have to worry about TSS.

I am going to be doing this in the next couple weeks. Did you have to do any custom work or get custom brackets? Or did everything that came with it bolt right up?

I made up L-brackets. Can probably get store bought L-brackets from lowes or HD to work with some trimming and bending.

That is a great install and I haven’t heard anyone ever say anything negative about the Baja Designs S8 light bars.
