Nice choice! Just put those wheels on mine a couple weeks ago. Running stock size tires as well, no rubbing at all.

He wasn't talking about your ride, he was talking to the OP. But in your Facebook world, you read it as an attack and got feelsbadman

Stock suspension on a 2020 TRD Off Road. Enkei RPT1 17x9 and BFG K02 265/70. No rubbing but I kind of feel like the Off Road model suspension is a little more generous than the SR5 / Sport. Maybe it's just my poor eyesight.

FYI - you may want to research some of the threads on TPMS. You either have to keep your OEM TPMS, reprogram new TPMS, or live with the TPWS light (which I did - a little annoying, but I didn't want the hassle of going to the dealer to reprogram).

I'm still waiting on a Limited but have been trying to find out what 17" combo will fit with no rubbing. If a Sport is very similar to the Limited in tire clearance, you might have some rubbing with those Method wheels since it looks like it has 0 offset. There's a thread here of a guy that got 17x8 wheels with +15 offset and 265/70-17 tires and he still had a bit of rubbing in the front at full lock. I think it will be worse with a 0 offset since the wheel/tire will stick out more.

I'm planning on just getting stock SR5 or Off Road wheels that both have a +15 offset. The Off Roads are .5" wider that the SR5 wheels. I'll get 265/70-17 tires and push the liner forward if it rubs.

I spoke to a Tire Rack rep before ordering the wheels and he said it will fit without rubbing. That was the reason I didn't get the Enkei because he said it would rub. Let's see what happens when I get the wheels in a couple of days.

If it rubs, I guess I have to lift the truck? I don't want to lift it a lot because of the missus. What would be a minimal lift I should do? No plans on offroading here.

So I got the wheels/tires delivered today from Tire Rack. Three of the wheels have centering rings on them, one does not. Are the centering rings needed to fit the wheels in our 4runner? I called Tire Rack and the guy said the rings are not needed. I sent an email to Method Wheels support and the guy said he will send me the missing ring.

He didn't say it is needed. He said he will send me one centering ring. I am sending him another email to confirm.

Got an email from Method. I guess the rings are not needed after all. Below is a copy and paste from his email.

Thanks for your question. The Hub Rings are not specifically needed for the install. The Hub Rings basically center the wheels on the hub while installing the lug nuts against the hub. If the installer uses the star pattern to tighten the wheel on the hub, you will be good to go without having to use the hub rings. The experienced installer will only tighten the first 3 lugs about ¾’s of the way using the “star or cross lug sequence, ( This centers the wheel on the hub ), then hits the other lugs fully to tighten the lugs on the wheel. Then all of the lugs should be hit a second time using the star or cross method to ensure the lugs are all secured before lowering the vehicle to the ground. After the vehicle is on the ground, the tire tech should torque the lugs before you leave. We Always recommend re-torquing lugs on All new wheels after 50 to 100 miles.

i disagree with the opinion not to use hub centric rings. it doesn't take much misalignment to get weird vibrations. plus you're adding extra stress to your studs.

I think I am going to be on the cautious side on this and wait for the centering ring from Method.

I think the reason the Method person said the rings aren't needed is that the bore diameter on the MR316 is 106.2 which should fit the hub pretty closely.
