I have had my Dasaita for over a year and have not had any issues with it. Got it mainly for CarPlay, but as I have learned the Android OS, have mostly stopped using CarPlay and run the headunit in the native (Android) OS. Love the speed and customization it provides. In your original post, you made this comment: "love the ability to pull the rear camera up anytime as I had the anytime camera button in my Tacoma and loved it"

I'm assuming that you can turn on the rear camera anytime based on this comment. If so, how did you activate this feature? I've looked and haven't found a way to do this. TIA

There’s an app that came installed on it called “F-Cam” (pictured). When you pull that up, it defaults to your front camera if you have one installed. Just click that little camera thing on the left side and it’ll flip to rear

AWESOME!!!! The button originally wasn't there, but I activated the front camera through the settings and the button appeared and now it works!!!! I don't know how many times I have wished I could activate the rear camera while driving because the cargo area is full and I can't see out the rear view mirror. Thanks so much for the help!!!!

Mine didn't either, but then I went into the factory settings and enabled the front camera and the button appeared after I restarted the unit.

Go into settings, select Car, then Factory Settings, Code 126, select the last menu option at the top of screen which is "Other", then scroll down till you see the front camera option and activate it from the drop down menu. Worked for me.

I have not made any system or MCU updates since I bought it, as everything has worked fine. Have you? If so, where can I find the latest updates? I've tried contacting Dasaita but they have not replied.

They’re posted on the website. Open the menu and select Forum. Down the bottom under after sales support is firmware download.

Well, went to the forum mentioned above, and I used the links that are listed in the Dasaita forum. They worked, but on the 1st try, it locked up my unit and I had to do a factory reset. Luckily, this worked. I then tried the update again and it took. Everything seems to be working. All I need to do is re-install all my apps. Unfortunately, I did lose some data for a mileage app that I use when delivering. Good part, I can now split screen!!!

What got updated? When I emailed them about it they didn’t recommend it. I finally got mine working the way I like it. The radio reception still sucks but everything else works.

Do you have that little antenna connected on the back of the unit? I use Spotify so don’t use the radio, but I did test when I installed and it came through fine. Mine very well may be spotty too haha and I just haven’t used it enough to know!

Yes I have everything connected. The little antenna is the WiFi antenna. I believe it’s the way they convert the oem connection to connect to theirs. Sometimes it comes if great others it’s spotty. I’ve gone to using the XM app or Spotify. The one local station I like has a app so I use that too.

With new head unit, do you still retain compass direction? Located in instrument cluster next to millage and temperature display.

Let me look next time I’m in it. I put this in within a week or two of picking up my 2019 (used) a few months back so I probably never noticed a compass!

Not quite sure. I do get to split the screen now, which wasn't available before. Of course, the app has to support split screen. Really haven't had a chance to mess with it so far, other than driving to work. My radio reception is fine, but I've never had an issue with it. CarPlay, wifi, bluetooth all connected without any issues, but I've never had an issue with that either. Only thing I really wanted was the split screen option so I could have my delivery app open along with my navigation as I was making deliveries. Hope it works.

Does anyone have the Android version of Apple Music? If so, is the screen cut off? I was hoping the update would fix this issue, but it didn't. :-(

Try at your own risk. I had to factory reset mine after this install. Re-installed and it's working so far. I'm an Apple person, but techie enough to try new stuff out. So if it doesn't work for you, I probably won't be able to help.

These are the links Quick Yuan sent from Dasaita for the updates after I inquired:

For those that have purchased this head unit to replace the factory OEM (Panasonic) … How do you feel about not having the CD/DVD Player anymore? … I’m just curious? … think that’s the only thing holding me back on replacing mine.

I rarely used mine to be honest so I don’t miss it. The biggest inconvenience for me is I can’t channel surf anymore. I’ve been using CarPlay almost exclusively and like it.

Has anyone figured out how to make it NOT cut off the radio volume when reversing?
I drove into the settings and found two things that I thought might be related. One is prohibit reversing and your choices are enable or disable. If you disable it, it just doesn’t allow the camera to come on at all.
There was another setting, I forget what it’s called because I’m not in the car right now. It was like annunciation -9 or -10 volume when reversing or something like that. I’ve tried all of those to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t have reverse volume on. I have sound attenuation -10, -9 or off. All three settings seem to have the same effect which is volume off

I tried all three settings. -9, -10 and off. No change in behavior. There is no “on”.

Maybe this is canbus related? Would someone mind sharing their canbus selection…
Here’s my current selection as a came from Dasaita. Everything else seems to be working.

Your images are not showing, but yes, the reverse volume needs to be on. Will need to check the canbus selection when I'm in the car.
